Delicious!!!

My husband and I went for lunch following the Carleton Place Triathlon. My husband got a free meal with his tri registration. He had a spicy chicken wrap with cold soup. He loved it. I had the veggie smash burger with sweet potato fries. It was the best veggie burger I've ever had. It came home made mustard, relish and ketchup on the side (all were amazing). The bun was fresh and chewy. The prices were excellent value for money. We will definitely go again. Oh yes, and the service was fast and friendly!

Cozy and trendy

I went with my husband on July 11, 2011. The ambiance was very relaxing with darker colors, soothing music (Norah Jones) and artistic photos hanging on the walls. We were greeted very warmly by the server who was efficient, professional and caring. As we are both vegan we ate all of the 3 options on the menu: some "darn good veggie stix": too much batter and too thin veggies, not seasoned enough, but not greasy at the very least. Then we both had the veggie burger, which was a patty mainly composed of veggies, on a rye bread, with red onion, tomato and lettuce, and on the side a piece of dill and home made condiments: ketchup, relish and mustard (no mayo for us vegan). The patty was crispy outside and softer inside, and tasted very good. Many restaurants use commercial patties and we really appreciated that the chef had cared to create his own version of a veggie burger. To us this is the sign of a real chef, and it's great. The salad was of tender, crispy lettuce, grated carrots, marinated artichoke heart and red pepper. Not the greatest, but very honest. What was great too was the tableware, quite trendy. No vegan dessert was available, but apparently there is "often one" on the menu during the winter months. So, we'll go back then!

I went for the first time 2 days ago with my husband. WOW is all I have to say. I have found my new favourite restaurant! The place was packed but our server was still very fast and seemed to have eyes in the back of her head. The food was to die for (chocolate chunk cheesecake....OH YES) and the atmosphere was relaxing despite all the people.

We went in the winter time. It was a nice cozy place. The food was good and the service was adequate. Much like every other restaurant in Carleton Place the food bringers don't just like to stand around and talk...they LOVE to stand around and talk. Other than struggling to get a refill, the food was excellent and came in a reasonable amount of time. It's a tad on the expensive side but it is tasty food.

Ballygiblin's has The best food in Carleton Place ! Fresh, not defrosted. Not a huge menu, but what is there is done to perfection. That is the mark of a good restaurant. They try to use local food ingredients when they can. The service is good but not great in the dining room area. The dining area decor needs some work!!! A little too minimalist. Needs a cozier atmosphere and some nice candles burning in the evenings. Their Sunday brunch is fabulous!!!!! My husband and I go there regularly.

My wife and I went with our 1 1/2 year old and we had excellent service and meals. Family friendly restaurant, they even had a little toy for our daughter. The food is awesome, and they have very good tasting local beers. We have been before and will return for sure. If you're a Guiness drinker, you must try their "2 fisted" oatmeal stout, it's great.

good food, slow service

My girlfriend and I went for lunch, nice place great interior, the food was quite good but the service was awful, we had to ask the girl 3 times just to get our drinks, and then the food arrived after about 45 minutes. I believe she just didnt order it right away, The meal was good but due to time I had to go back to work and only got to eat half of eat. I may be back to give this place a second chance, it had great potential

Amazing food aweful service.

Took forever for someone to even notice we were there. Took forever and a day for our drinks. Our order must have been lost because people who came in after us got their food long before we did. FOOD WAS AMAZING!!! SO if you don't mind waiting then it's well worth it!!
