Waitress wasn’t particularly happy to serve us... the eye roll said it all! The food was ok but the portion size of the fish tacos was not worth the price! Did not have enough stuff on it besides the fish and the fries were dark and over cooked... I was afraid to ask for a different side... doubt I’ll be back
We liked the food, the appetizer - the cheeseburgers and the desserts were pretty good.
The staff was polite and courteous. Nothing much more to say, really.
EXPLODING EGGS, that’s what you get at Fireside Family Restaurant, 1166 Commissioners Rd E, London, ON. Our friends and my family just left this restaurant and will NEVER return. We have been to this restaurant many, many times; we are usually there every Sunday morning for breakfast and up until today we would have rated it a 4 out of 5. Our friend(s) ordered eggs benedict, and specifically requested the yolk be cooked hard. It was served with the yolk runny, so back it went to the kitchen … where it was microwaved ... and we all know what happens when you cook a solid egg yolk in the microwave … it explodes of course. All of us ended up wearing egg and hollandaise sauce. At a table for eight, the (hot) egg and (hot) sauce flew everywhere, in our hair and coffee, on our faces and clothes (even our laps) and on the wall at the end of the table! The server brushed it off, making excuses. It took the manager a very long time to make his way over to our table and when he did, he continued to make excuses, even arguing. He then accused us of complaining every time we are there. This is not true, why would we continue to go there so frequently??? … why would we continue to spend our money there ???. Occasionally there have been times when something wasn’t the way we ordered it, or of poor quality and we asked for something to be cooked more or less … or to not have brown lettuce in our salad. To make matters worse, there was no apology from the server or the manager AND THE MANAGER STILL INSISTED THAT OUR FRIENDS PAY FOR THEIR BREAKFAST THAT EXPLODED ALL OVER US!!!!
I deeply regret this review but the quality of service and food have suffered since I was here last.
The restaurant has many good features but Breakfast is not one of them any more. We ordered our usual Breakfast foods but this time it would have been faster to go cook it ourselves it took that long. !!!! When the meal finally came to us the temp of the meal left plenty to be desired. The Ketchup i applied to my home fries made them actually cooler. The meal was no where the proper temp it should have been.
Bacon was cool, sausages were cool and a different kind were used not the plump ones they have been using, Eggs were not as fluffy and were on the cool side. The servers staff seemed interested in chatting with themselves and not on seeing that the customers were happy, The free coffee refills were few and far between (2)
When we were done it took us putting on our coats to get the attention of the server to pay the bill. It seemed like they have changed server staff and hasn't paid off and changed suppliers and it hasn't exactly gone to well either...........You never should have changed a good thing ..........now we'll go elsewhere............sorry
