I ordered the Traditional (Incl. fries, gravy and cheese curds). It was good but not amazing. Maybe I'm being picky, but if your whole business model is poutine.. it should be amazing. They have a good selection of Pop Shoppe sodas to choose from and the 80's music in the background was nice. I can't think of the last time I heard 'Funky Cold Medina'. They have several other variations of poutine to choose from. On the down side, they don't have a lot of seating (less than 18 seats) and they have no public washrooms. If I'm in the area I will probably try one of the other variations but I won't make a special trip.

Ottawa poutine places to satisfy big cravings

Ottawa poutine places to satisfy big cravings

There is no smoked poutine at Smoke’s, the creation of a Smith Falls, Ontario entrepreneur. However, poutine creations including perogies, sausage, nachos and even steak fajitas make up for it. It’s so popular that you may not be alone here, even at four in the morning.

Late night grub for famished night owls in Ottawa

Late night grub for famished night owls in Ottawa

A deluxe rendition of one of Quebec’s most adored snack foods, Smoke’s Poutinerie’s poutines meet all the cheesy, greasy standards for a quick late night snack between bar and bed. On a base of hand-cut, yellow-fleshed fries, Quebec curds and homemade gravy, you can request toppings such as pulled pork and Philly cheesesteak. For vegetarians, sautéed mushrooms, caramelized onions and baby green peas can top this sinfully delicious midnight nosh.
