Thank you to the staff at My Place in Smiths Falls. We drove several hours to Smiths Falls to celebrate our parents 40th anniversary. The food was fresh, made to order and absolutely delicious. The desserts were also fantastic. The staff helped make our special celebration a success. Again, many thanks.
The food was wonderful. The gentleman in the dining room was superb. The waitress lacked manners and common courtesy. She was abrupt and reminded me of the soup nazi from Seinfeld. She needs to work on her relational skills with patrons. However, I would still go back and recommend it.
My wife convinced me to try My Place again, and we had great service this time. The owner was helpful of what to try from the menu, what a change from last time. The food is what will keep us coming back. I'm happy I listened to my wife (but don't tell her).
We arrived with another couple, the waiter/owner was VERY drunk, and on two occasions made obscene, sexual remarks to one of the men at our table. An older couple came in (10 minutes after us) who sat at a table for 4 and the waiter/owner wanted them at a table for 2, and he refused to take their order for 25 minutes, and they did not get their food until after we were done eating.
Although the food was good, the service made us realize that we will never return.
Pros: Great food overall I have tried many items on the menu eating in and taking out.
Portion size is quite reasonable.
The prices are VERY reasonable almost makes me sad to pay so little for an obviously hard working bunch.
Servers are friendly, service was fast and well prepared.
Cons: Atmosphere is lacking but is definitely adequate for someone looking for a small town bistro feel.
Limited seating area, not recommended for peak periods.
