It’s a Sunday afternoon and you sip a rich hot chocolate as you people watch from the checkered chairs on a quaint terrasse. No, you’re not at a Parisian café whiling away the day, though you’re probably as close as you’ll get this side of the Atlantic.

Douce France is a Parisian café/boutique that opened on the Yonge and Eglinton strip in 2013. Step inside and you’ll be greeted with a warm Bonjour by owner Christel Crouin-Saba or one of the bilingual staff. But rest assured, you need not speak a word of French to enter, though those keen on practicing will find a welcoming environment as well as French-language magazines and books.
