Meet the owner

If Studio Brillantine were human, one might use the following adjectives to describe him: impish, mischievous and spirited. Squirreled away on a stretch of Queen Street West in-between Parkdale’s buzz-worthy restaurants and vintage boutiques, Ferdinand Suzara’s playful boîte has been a design-o-phile’s dream destination for more than a handful of years.

Originally plotted in a rental space next to the ever-trendy Drake Hotel, Ferdinand knew that in order to survive, the finagling of property was a must. When a space popped up in the then-undiscovered part of Hogtown’s wild west, he went with his gut and nabbed it. “I know Parkdale would gentrify,” he notes. Now, with over 15 entrepreneurial years under his belt, it’s clear that Ferdinand has a magic touch when it comes to design. “I’m still smiling,” he says. “I’m glad I enjoy it so much.”

    Unique Designer Gift Shop

    This is the best store in Toronto for designer gifts for the special people in your lives including yourself! The products are playful, colourful, functional with beauty and have won good design awards. Imported designer lines include: Alessi, Koziol, Starck, Stelton, Commes Des Garcons and Jensen. Spend the day browsing the hundreds of items on display museum style. Pricey but worth the status and trip to gentrifying Parkdale area.
