Too much for too little
I found this restaurant to be cold - if not sterile - in the ambiance. I'm not sure what it used to be but cosy and warm it certainly wasn't. The food simply put was totally overpriced for lunch. The price would be ok for dinner - if the quality matched. My steak/frites was mundane. The steak tough - actually stringy - with the ugly result of having to (elegantly and unobtrusively, I hope, but I doubt) spit out the the sinewy pieces I could not swallow. They started to pile up in an embarrassing way on the side of my plate. The frites were fine, although nothing special. Ditto for the salad. As a previous reviewer mentioned, the service matched the decor - again nothing to recommend. All in all a disappointing restaurant with pretensions in its price list. I wish Niagara area restaurants would learn that charging more doesn't make it better quality or a better experience!
