The food is pretty good. Most of the dishes on the menu are fantastic. The service, however, not so much. The manager is the most unfriendly person I have ever encountered. He is rude, condescending, and his customer service skills are severely lacking. The waiters appear nervous and uncomfortable, and when you present a coupon (posted in the penny-saver), they seem agitated and pick through it with a fine tooth comb. They do, however, find others ways to over-charge to make up for the coupon difference. Not only did my husband and I have a terrible experience, but several of our friends have vowed to never go back. It's a shame. This restaurant was one of our favorites.
My husband and I celebrated our first anniversay here, and it is a lovely place, but was full of tables of 4 to 8 eight men...we were the only couple in the place, and the way the tables were laid out, it's not very intimate, so we ended up listening to a lot of loud, boisterous guys all night. The food was nice, but presentation needs a bit of improvement, considering the high price. Expect a posh evening, and dress accordingly, or you'll feel out of place. Our server was sweet, but seemd unsure of herself a bit. One very nice thing is that they send us frequent email coupons for discounts around our birtdays and anniversary. Nice touch.
I have been dining there for about 8 years. I have been to Italy and come from an Italian family so I know what good food is. The dishes are family feeling. not skimpy like other high end establishments.Best in Windsor worth the jump from detroit.

This place rocks. I have been all over Erie street and feel this establishment blows the competition away!!!...the food was only surpassed by the service received. I suggest Gabbiano to everyone I meet and you reading this!!!!!

If I could transplant this great restaurant to my home town, I would eat there every night. Excellent food and atmosphere. We felt like we were in Rome.
Service is by far the positive attribute to this restaurant. Food is so-so, pretty much just an ordinary dining experience. Nothing stands out other than their wine list.
Ate here with a group a couple of years ago. It was the worst dining experience I've had in Windsor. The food was very good, but the service was so rude and insulting that I have shared the story with everyone I can since. They gave away our table, made us wait for an hour before we finally commandeered ourself a table; we had to ask for everything and when we finally got it, it was tossed at us witha sneer. The table next to us got presh-grated reggiano, we got powdered parm. We tipped the kitchen only, and literally heard the server cursing us afterward. Too bad because many locals love this place.
everyone mentioned this restaurant to me as a great establishment.. to my dismay they were terribly wrong.. our server was cold as well as very forwarding and rude, the food was not up to par with some other restaurants on erie, and for the quality i found it to be quite undeserving of their 'asking' prices.
