Meet the owner

Coop Coco & Calendula makes it easy for people to systematically reject products that pollute the environment. That’s particularly thanks to their commitment to creating biodegradable, homemade cosmetics. This eco-friendly shop came into being in 2010, when friends Alysia Melnychuk and Sarah Hunter decided to retail cosmetic and finished products, handmade using vegetable-based and chemical-free ingredients.

“The organic world is very important to me in general, both for environmental and health concerns,” says Sarah. “As a herbalist and midwife, I was already in the health and well-being field. Coop Coco is just an extension of that.” Meanwhile, Alysia had already tasted some success with her venture at The St-Henri Soap Kitchen, where she mastered the art of soap-making from 2002 to 2003. What began as a fun experiment to create pretty-looking and fragrant gifts for her friends and family turned to the birth of Le Savon Populaire and, ultimately, Coop Coco & Calendula.

    communication extremely poor, after 10 days my online order still not shipped, told to cancel. I communicated in english they replied in french, not cool.

    J ai fait venir une commande pour faire du savon à mon retour de vacances. Ils ne m ont même pas envoyé de message, ni appeler pour me faire part de leur retard. À mon retour, 2 semaines après, je laisse un message. Ils ne me rappelle pas. Puis j envoie un courriel et ils me répondent enfin qu ils sont en retard et qu... ils ne savent pas quand ma commande sera envoyée! Même en magasin, mon conjoint va chercher des choses et ils sont perdus et pas trop serviables.

    Bad service

    The store clerk who helped me in fact refused to properly help me. The service I received was bad. I will not go back to this store.
