Don’t Deserve Your Business
I took a year off from work to renovate the house I purchased into my dream home. When it came to the recessed lighting, I heard that you shouldn't go cheap, so I went to Eclairage Quebec. I dealt with a guy named Sylvain. I asked for 50W lights (highest power available) specifically because I never wanted to overload the lights. One year later, some of the fixtures starting burning out. After some investigation with the manufacturer (Contrast, who has excellent customer support btw), we determined that the parts sold to me were all wrong. I removed the fixtures from the ceiling to find the wires and transformers all charred and cracked, i.e. severely overheated. I went back to Eclairage Quebec and showed them all my bills which, when we double checked the parts catalogue, clearly showed that 50W lights had been sold to me with 35W trim and 20W fixtures. It was clear that Sylvain had absolutely no idea what he was doing, even though he pretended to be an expert. I even brought Eclairage Quebec the charred parts to show them. According to a lady there, Sylvain had been let go due to incompetence. She agreed after looking at my bills that an error had been made by Sylvain. The problem is that the owner calls the shots. I gave him thousands of dollars in business, and was willing to negotiate a deal even though it was clear that THEY were responsible. They promised to pay for the replacements parts but then went back on their word. In the end, I got stuck with the headache and the bill. Eclairage Quebec does not deserve your business. It says 'Ouvert au Publique' outside the store, but trust me, stay far far away from this place. Buy your lights from a good honest company.
