La Roularderie Café Et Patisserie

An interior designer in Iran, Jila Fahm's real dream was to open her very own pastry shop. In search of a more relaxed life, she relocated with her children and granddaughter to Montreal, Canada in 2006.

As Jila explored the city's restaurant areas and streets, it was Bernard Street, in Montreal's Mile End, that caught her eye. Along with the neighbourhood's upscale feel, multicultural inhabitants and surrounding business district, Jila's mind was made up when she found a nice corner location blessed with a front terrace and outdoor fountain. She knew this spot would be perfect for the shop she'd always dreamed of opening.

A pastry shop and French café in one, La Rouladerie opened in October of 2014. This spot offers Montrealers the chance to discover the sweet side of 2500 years of Persian culinary history.

On the night of its grand opening, La Rouladerie was filled to the brim with area locals, journalists, food bloggers and members of Montreal's Iranian community who came to discover the shop's unique take on French and Persian sweets, pastries, cakes and more.
