Perfect pizza delivery in Calgary

Over the last few years, some seriously awesome pizza places have popped up in Calgary. While many of the trendiest offer eat-in and takeout options but not delivery, these mighty-fine pizza places are happy to transport the ’za directly to your door.

Via Cibo

1
2-7929 11 St SE, Calgary, AB T2H 0B8

If you’re lucky enough to live in this southeast restaurant’s delivery zone, you can dig into its divine, thin-crust, wood-fired pizza at home. Each Via Cibo pizza is made with the finest Naples-milled flour. Pies include the pollo al pesto, made with locally raised grilled chicken, roasted peppers, caramelized onions, tomato, pesto, broccolini, goat cheese and fior di latte mozzarella, and are worth the wait and delivery charge.

Rio Pizza

2
1510 14 St SW, Calgary, AB T3C 1C9

A lot of pizza places deliver, but Rio Pizza is my hands-down favourite. The $5 delivery charge is worth every cent when you crunch down on that crispy, thin-crust pizza with its generous toppings. Try the Hawaiian deluxe topped with loads of ham, pineapple and back bacon or the Sizzling Hot Pizza, piled high with chillies, jalapeno and banana peppers, onions and Italian sausage.

Michael's Restaurant & Pizza

3
139 10 Ave SW, Calgary, AB T2R 0A1

Downtown residents can enjoy free delivery from corporate-catering favourite Michael’s Restaurant and Pizza while customers located in adjacent neighbourhoods must pony up a small fee. This family owned and operated restaurant sends out soft, thick, pillowy pizzas topped with house-made sauce and piled high with savoury ingredients. The meaty Michael’s Special and SFO (spinach, feta and onions) are recommended. This is unpretentious pizza at its finest.

Nikos Pizza

4
1405 11 St SW, Calgary, AB T2R 1G7

Its delivery area is limited (call to see if you’re one of the lucky ones), but if you’re in it, you’re in luck. This simple Beltline pizza joint is dishing out homemade Greek-style pizza with a flavourful sauce and stringy, chewy cheese. Try the Zeus Chicken topped with chicken, baby spinach, tomatoes and feta or the American Cheeseburger topped with back bacon, beef, onions and cheddar cheese.

Tom's House of Pizza

5
7730 Macleod Trail SE, Calgary, AB T2H 0L9

A Calgary institution since 1963, Tom’s House of Pizza has four locations throughout the city including one on Macleod Trail Southeast in Fairview. Its excellent, house-made, thin-crust pizza is topped with 100 per cent Canadian mozzarella and cheddar cheeses. A popular ingredient, the spicy pepperoni is made exclusively for Tom’s House of Pizza, as is the savoury Italian salami.

Gus's Pizza

6
180-1620 29 St Nw, Calgary, AB T2N 4L7

This tiny restaurant manages to pump out great pizza and happens to be particularly popular among staff at nearby Foothills Hospital. Another Greek-style pizzeria, the layering of cheese and toppings on a deliciously thick and fresh crust brings patrons back again and again. But if you want it delivered, you’d better call and check that you’re in the restaurant’s delivery zone, as it is limited to neighbouring communities.

Spiros On 17th

7
1902 33 St SW, Calgary, AB T3E 2S5

Greek restaurants are doing pizza right in Calgary, and Spiros is no exception. This Killarney favourite hasn’t changed much since it opened in 1969. Why mess with such spectacular thick-crust success? Try the Anjelika's Greek-style pie topped with feta cheese, ham, red onions, tomatoes, black olives, banana peppers and Parmesan for some kick.

Calgary might be 1,000 kilometres from the ocean, but you’d never guess it from the freshness of the sushi available here. The following is a list of Calgary restaurants that will deliver fresh, delicious sushi to your door.
There’s just something about fireside dining that makes a meal special. They probably won’t let you roast any chestnuts in the fireplaces of these cozy Calgary restaurants and bars, but you can at least keep the winter chills at bay while enjoying an extra-comforting meal.
If the only hot chocolate you know is the grainy mix from a store-bought tin or the muck shot from arena vending machines, it’s time to venture into the cafés and chocolate shops of Calgary and treat your taste buds to a much more satisfying version of this decadent winter treat. Even if you do pride yourself on making a quality hot cocoa at home, you’re going to love the variety these hot beverage connoisseurs offer.
