I moved from Unionville to Newmarket two years ago. I still make a monthly pilgrimage to Mr Fish and Chips because I haven't found anything remotely comparable from here to Vaughan. The fish batter is light and flaky. Their chips are good, but the potato fritters (my personal favourite) are lip-smacking goodness. The eat-in area is pretty basic. Definitely NOT somewhere to go on a first date. Come for the food, not the ambiance. Read more

I can't see how anyone who visits this jewel, hidden in the corner of the plaza, would find any fault at all. I stumbled upon Dennis' little oasis about 5 years ago and it has become a weekly ritual. Jerk chicken is to die for. Ox tail is the best I have ever had for sure and the rice and peas stand up to any carribean resaurant in the GTA for sure. I have moved to Calgary and put my family as 1A and the Jerk Pit as 1B as things I miss the most. No Caribbean restaurant out here even compares. Read more

I came on good friday april 19,2019. I had the new orleans salmon with baked potato with butter and sour cream and rice. Was absolutely amazing taste and cooked perfect. It came with diced tomatoes and cilatro with some shrimp in like a cajun butter sauce. With those delicious biscuits they famous for and i even had a side ceasar salad. My fave fish and chips place! I've tried tried a couple of places in Toronto but this one for me has been the best. The crowd here generally is seniors. Food and service is great.
