I've used both CLIA's Lawyer Referral Service and their website. They operate the lawyer referral service on behalf of the legal community and can arrange a 40 minute consultation with a lawyer, who has experience in the issue of concern, for a very low fee ($25 + taxes). The website features lots of easily understandable information about a multitude of legal issues, and there is a free telephone information line that operates Monday to Thursday, 9-4.

As well as support from the Province, CLIA receives funding from the federal Department of Justice, from the Law Foundation of PEI, and from various other agencies and individuals. CLIA administers a Lawyer Referral Service on behalf of the Law Society of PEI and the CLIA also offers courses and presentations on legal topics.
