When you buy a slice (or a whole pizza) you don't end up with a huge bready crust, Goldies is served rustic style... on thin crust. It's seriously the best pizza I have tasted in town. I prefer the mushroom pizza the most. YOu can see all the slices Goldies offers through their display window right off of Pender street, or you can go inside, sit at the bar, and order a beer while you they heat up your slice! I really liked the atmosphere. The owner, Michael, is a classy guy. He treats everyone with respect who walks in the door. They are also becoming more tech savy, and are adding their listings to Foursquare, and twitter. I checked into foursquare at goldies pizza, and got a dollar off their draft beer. Its a nice place! Although this establishment now serves Chinese food, to me it is not the crowning jewel of this eatery. It has truly stood the test of time. As a young boy, mom and dad would slip me a few bucks, I'd get on my bike and pedal up there, back when the original owner was working his own place, breading and seasoning by hand (hint: this was in the late 70's). This was THE weekly treat for me to take this delicious, crispy, one of a kind taste home in the basket of my bike and delve into a taste sensation. The "Colonel" got punk'd everytime, hands down. You do not go here to sit in, you don't go here to take in the "ambiance"... It was never, ever the way this place was supposed to be.
