An out of the way little house that looks like a local take out pizza joint. Walk in and there are a few tables. Sit down and order and get some of the best Italian food I have had in Ottawa. Ask what the special is, you never know. We stared wit a sausage appetizer that is to die for, flavorful and spiced just right. There were 6 of us so we all ordered different things and tried each others. There was not a loser in the bunch. Skip the insalata, it is just greens on a plate. The veal picatta was outstanding and the pastas were great. Get the house wine, the night we were there it was a very good valpolicella. We were greeted at the door by a respectful very friendly young woman named kirsten, then brought to our nice roomy comfortable booth at the side of the restaurant. we were greeted by our server straight away, Tina, who Brought our first round of drinks. Once we saw the menu we ordered nice and quickly, the menu was quite detailed. Salad and bread was brought to our table and the feast began. when tina brought our food to the table i joked that i might have to take it home. I was able to eat a couple of pieces and she kindly packed the rest up for me. I enjoyed the NY theme in this resaurant. Decided to try Zola's breakfast again...it was excellent. I had breakfast several months previously and did not find it very good. However this visit was excellent. I had the breakfast special...two eggs over easy with sausage and homefries. The eggs and sausage were very good. The home fries are at least equal to any I have tasted in the city. breakfast come with a fabulous fresh fruit cup and a rosemary spiced grilled tomatoe and great artisan ancient grain bread. I have finally found my breakfast place of choice.No need to go elsewhere best breakfast in the city. Read more
