Meet the owner

Sylvie Law will be the first to admit that she used to be a shopaholic. “I probably still am,” she says with a laugh, “but now I find clothes for the women of Calgary, not just for me.” Like many of Calgary’s great businesses, SylvStyle Boutique was born out of circumstance. Sylvie left her career in the oil patch in 2010, and decided to sell some of her clothes for something to do. She was impressed when her collection was quickly snatched up – and it gave her the confidence she needed to try something different.

“I made this store to say to women, ‘Your size doesn’t matter, your age doesn’t matter, it doesn’t matter how much money you have. I can help you find clothes that give you confidence and make you look great,’” says Sylvie. When she opened SylvStyle Boutique in 2011, Sylvie did just that.
