    Amazing

    My cat Cooper spent 3 weeks with Marilyn at Exclusively Cats and had an amazing time. It was very apparent he was incredibly well taken care of and I could not have been happier with my updates and the facility overall! It's great to know he will always have a 'home away from home'

    Cat luxury

    For the past six years our very shy neurotic cat has stayed with Marilyn and Paul whenever we've been away. Her visits there vary from a few days to three weeks or so. I can say without hesitation that I never have any worries about her when she's with them. Afterall, I can always email her and she always replies with a photo as well as a message! Both Marilyn and Paul have been a reliable source of advice for us in regards to looking after a neurotic cat and they clearly know each of their boarders individually and observe their behavior constantly. Jack always comes home happy with bundles of energy. I wish we had known about Exclusively Cats years ago, their facility is so much better than a small wire cage or a building shared with other animals. I am very grateful for the way they look after Jack since I have complete peace of mind whenever she's there. Thank you Marilyn and Paul!

    Love Your Cats? Want Quality Care? Look No Further

    We rescued 2 cats from the SPCA in 2006. We travel to the other end of Canada, into the States and overseas. I have lost count of how many times we have boarded our beloved pets at Exclusively for Cats. The facilities are amazing, it provides a safe and loving environment and interaction with other cats that our pets wouldn't get otherwise. We call it a vacation for them as well as for us! We have gone overseas 4 times since 2006 for 3 and 4 weeks at a time and have never had a moments worry. The last time we returned from England after 4 weeks away my cats were sad all the way home in their carriers! It doesn't matter how many times you've boarded there, Marilyn is absolutely a stickler for the proof of up to date vaccinations which makes us feel great because we know all the other cats there are up to date as well. The facility has been built with cat comfort and good excercise opportunities with all the different level shelving for them to jump up onto, the ability to go to a safe outside area, weather permitting. We've recommended this facility to others with 100% confidence. Earlier this year when I was trying to arrange an overseas flight I emailed and they hadn't determined their own vacation yet so I couldn't book my flight..... Marilyn emailed me the very next day and said go ahead you spurred us into action to solidfy our plans and I was able to go right ahead and secure my own bookings. If you are looking for quality cat care in a facility that truly respects and looks after their charges, go see for yourself, you will find no better kennel anywhere.

    The Cat House

    We have been using Exclusively Cats since 2005 for boarding our cats. First impressions of Marylin and Paul is they were both caring decent people that were offering a service that no one else had at the time. A facility where the owners truely respected and understood cats. Marylin's knowledge of cats and their specific behaviors is a huge benefit. Bookings and changes to bookings are flexible, if the space is available. Phone calls and emails are always returned in a prompt, friendly and efficient manor. The facility has cats roaming everywhere, inside, outside and upside down if you like. Compared to other facilities, where cats are locked in cages for most of the day, Exclusively Cats alows them to roam freely where they want. Lots of places to play, climb, hide, sleep and do as they will. After 7 years we still go back to Exculisvely Cats, because we believe this is the safest and best place for our cats when we are away.

    We highly recommend this home away for home for cat lovers. Marilyn and Paul are caring indiviiduals that are committed to the best care possibe. Our cat quickly settles demonstrating no anxiety when we drop her off. The kitty condos are clean and provide privacy for those less social cats. The outside area is great, secure and a large enough for lots of fur faces to get some fresh air! We have left our cat there for two weeks and when we picked her up, she was a calm as when we left her, no anxiety! Barb

    Excellent kitty care

    I have been using Exclusively Cats since 2009.I have always been pleased with the service offered by the owner Marilyn. One of the first things that impressed me about Marilyn was when I called to inquire about the facility. She offered that I come out to meet her, and bring my cat with me if I wished. We agreed upon a time and date when she felt she would be able to take the time to give me and my cat a tour and be able to meet my four pawed loved one.I liked her facility immediately. There are individual rooms for the cats, with windows looking to the outside-once the cat is comfortable to come out of the room and socialize with the other cats - there is easy access to the common area as well as to the outside (weather and time of year permitting) in a fully secured enclosure. Knowing that I do not have to worry about him getting loose or coming to harm is a great reassurance. Another perk of the stay is that I can send my four pawed one an email while on vacation, and he responds. Marilyn does the typing for him, and attaches a picture - but it is nice to be able to check in and see that he is doing good. Lets face it - I probably have more separation anxiety than he does. Thanks for taking the time to read this rather lengthy review. But if you, like me, are attached to your fur baby and want only the best care while you need to be away from him or her - then I recommend Exclusively Cats. I am always pleased with the experience, and it is nice to know that someone is there that is aware of how he is doing, what his needs are, to give him some love and attention until I can be with him again. I really value having found this business and the on-going care that Marilyn provides. I know my "fur baby" is in "good paws" and will be happy when I get back to him.     Excellent Kennel!!!!!

    Well, first of all I have to say I totally disagree with that last review. People, whatever you do, do not judge this Kennel based on that review. I have taken my baby Tiger here on 3 separate occaisions, once for a week, and twice for 2 weeks, or close to that. He has always come home tired from playing with the other cats, and going outside to play as well. He caught a kitty cold once (I didnt know there was such a thing), and I was so happy for Marilyn's excellent veterinary knowledge, as she was able to tell me what it was when we came to pick him up. As well, she was able to tell me what the symptoms are, what I could do to help him get better quicker, roughly how long it would last, and that it is fairly common. For a Kennel to have that expertise, it puts my mind at ease to know if something ever did happen, they would know what to do. They have a great set up, it's as if the cats are living the life of luxury out there. And their knowledge of how to introduce the cats to each other is very valuable, I was worried about my cat interacting with the others, but they definatley know what they are doing, he was fine with the other cats. I had previously taken Tiger to another Kennel years ago, and it was a terrible experience and I swore I would never do it again, until I found Exclusively Cats. They are wonderful, and I will not hesitate to use them in the future, in fact I have full intentions of doing so.

    Highly Satisfied

    We have taken our cat, Oliver, to Exclusively Cats for the last two years. He always comes back a happy cat. We find the proprietors friendly, helpful and efficient. There is lots of room for the cats to play and there is a nice, secure outdoor area. The proprietors have also been flexible when our plans have changed suddenly. They consistently deliver what they promise and the cat gets the space he was booked for. We're happy to continue using Exclusively Cats.

    Review of Exclusively Cats: long-term client

    My family has been boarding our cats with Exclusively Cats since 2008 and have always received exemplary service. When we are away for the weekend or an extended holiday, we have no doubt that our cats are being cared for and receiving regular individual attention. We have been in a position where we have had to leave our cats for months at a time due to career travel and have always been impressed with the care and communication that has been provided. Marilyn is an experienced professional who "knows" cats and is someone whom I've sought a second opinion from on occasion when a medical issue has arisen with one of my cats. This is an excellent place, our cats seem to love it there and we wouldn't think of leaving them anywhere else. Exclusively Cats seems to have many regular clients and bookings and that speaks for itself. You can't please everyone all of the time, and the fact that one person's expectations were not met should not speak for this business as a whole. We were compelled to put in our own glowing review of a business we have come to rely on after reading the negative one that was posted.

    Very Pleased

    We have used this company several times over the last few years and always been very satisfied. The owners are very caring to the cats and one is a certified vet assistant so has qualifications to care for them if needed. On one trip we had to unexpectedly extend our stay and they were very accommodating to our last minute schedule change. The facility is great with both indoor and outdoor areas. I recommend them.

    We wouldn't take our cat anywhere else.

    We have been boarding our cat at this kennel for over 6 years and have had nothing but great experiences. The owners have always been great at communicating and are always very prompt and accomodating, even when we have last minute boarding needs for our cat. After his "alone time" (when he first arrives at the kennel) our cat is allowed to roam throughout the kennel and the outdoor enclosure. There are plenty of things to keep our active cat occupied. The "cat rooms" are well maintaned and spacious - much bigger than we've ever seen at any other kennel. We also take comfort in the fact that this kennel is strictly for cats. We are very confident he gets plenty of attention. Often when we arrive to pick him up he is draped across Marilyn's shoulders - happy as can be. I would not hesitate for a minute to recommend this kennel to anyone looking for a clean, well run and comforting place for their cat to stay.

    Exclusively Cats - peace of mind while you travel

    I have left my two cats many times at Exclusively Cats while travelling for business or pleasure. They get excellent care, individual attention, medicine administered if they need it, their food preferences catered to. - basicly everything they could need. I never worry for one minute while I am away. What a wonderful service!

    Eclusively Cats much Appreciated

    I have used Exclusively Cats about 5 times over the past year for varying lengths of time , as long as a month. I have always found them friendly , helpful, accommodating, and the enviroment has always been quiet, clean, and the cats there very well cared for. On occassion my cat has not had a window...I don't think she cares really. If weather/conditions are fine the cats are allowed to go out into a safe enviroment. I had occassion to send an email the first time because it was a longer period of time and my cat is quite timid. I had a email response and picture the next day. I really felt like an over protective "cat women" then but it was nice. I would not hesitate to recommned Marilyn/Exclusively cats to anyone.

    A place like no other

    I have been leaving my cats at Exclusively Cats a few times a year for more than 5 years now. They've spent up to 3 weeks in a row at the kennel. I'm very impressed by the whole setup with a separate building full of little rooms with their own windows for the most part and a fully fenced space for the cats to go outside when the weather allows it. Marilyn is professionally trained and her and her husband are very dedicated and have always taken care of my cats very well, even when one of them was very sick and needed to be given meds twice daily. They are also very easy to get in touch with in case I wonder how my kitties are doing when I'm away. I remember one winter I was supposed to pick up the cats on a certain day and Marilyn's husband called me at home to let me know there was a snow storm and that it would be better for me to wait an extra day before going instead of risking being stucked in the snow. That was very thoughtful of them. Bottomline, I wouldn't leave my cats anywhere else when I go away.

    great place for cats

    Dear Anonymous, I'm really sorry that you feel you had a bad experience at Exclusively Cats. I have been using this kennel for years (from its opening) My first cat Annie spent quite a bit of time there as I needed respite from her care. She was severely diabetic and Marilyn took great care of her with her glucose checks, insulin shots etc...She certainly enjoyed the other cats and the outdoors every time she was there. My present cat, Mouse, is very different. He's a loner and really has a problem with people and other cats. Both Marilyn and her husband have shown great patience with him and I don't worry when I leave. Actually, I feel sorry for them dealing with His Royal Crankiness!! I will use this kennel again without hesitation...if they'll have Mouse again! D. Morrison

    Excellent care provided

    I just read the previous review ("Think carefully before using this service") and completely disagree with it. I have been using Exclusively Cats for more than 6 years and have experienced only excellent service. In fact, I have recommended it to friends who also think highly of the services provided. My cat is not a social cat and tends to be quite anxious when her routine is changed. Marilyn's attention to Banjo's needs has meant that we can comfortably leave her with Marilyn knowing that Banjo will thrive at the kennel. Marilyn has also taken the time to help us resolve a significant behaviour/ feeding issue with our cat that vets were not able to resolve for us. Marilyn provides such quality care that I would not consider going anywhere else.

    My cats' home away from home!

    We have been using Exclusively cats for almost a decade and couldn't be happier with care given to our cats. Marilyn loves cats and it shows. We have two cats, one is very outgoing and social. The other is more of an introvert. Marilyn tends to each of their need to ensure they both enjoy their stay. I sometimes wonder if our cats enjoy being at the kennel more than they enjoy being at home. Our cats were there this summer and are booked in for a winter vacation as well. Thank you Marilyn for the fantastic care you give our pets, we truly appreciate it.

    Best boarding experience

    Our vet at Mill Creek Animal Hospital recommended Exclusively Cats as a boarding kennel because we have a very anxious cat who cannot be around dogs, and cannot board in a cage. We were thrilled when we saw the facility, each cat has its own room, with several platforms for jumping or hiding, and most rooms have a window outside. There is also a large common area with sofas and cat trees, and an outdoor area that is completely covered and secured for outdoor cats. We have 2 cats, one has both asthma and a heart condition, as well as being extremely anxious and frightened. I specified that I didn't want my cats to mix with the other cats because of how anxious I thought it would make my sick cat, and the owner Marilyn kindly let my cats out of their room for a walk around first thing every morning before the other cats. Marilyn also administered my cats medications which are varied, and include an asthma pump that is given as needed, which requires quite a bit of attention. While we were away, we received several emails and photos of the boys, and I couldn't believe how happy and relaxed they looked. This past summer I needed to leave short notice for a medical emergency, I knew EC would be booked as they book up months in advance but I called anyway. Marilyn was so compassionate and moved some things around and was able to accommodate our cats. I didnt know how long I would be gone and I really would have been devastated to leave them anywhere else as it is the only place where I wont worry about the health and anxiety levels of my ill cat. We were gone a long time and Marilyn drove into Edmonton to my vet to pick up refills of meds and specialty food. I couldn't thank Marilyn enough for caring for my cats the way I would have myself.

    Great service

    We have over the past few years used Exclusively Cats when boarding our senior cat. We have used other in the Edmonton area and they do not compare. We had left Oscar at one place and it cost us several hundred dollars to get him back to health when we picked him up. We found both Marilyn and Paul take excellent care our Oscar. He is older, very big and quite shy. We feel very confident when Oscar is picked up and we leave him for a few weeks. He is an out door cat, but he choses if he wants to go out or not. Oscar comes home and barely skips a beat and I have to attribute that to the kind and gentle care he receives. We would highly recommend Exclusively Cats and will us their services in the future.
