M&M Food Market

We purchased a bottle of honey mustard sauce from this store but did not open it until about a month later. Unfortunately, it looked like the the bottle had not been sealed properly and sauce in the top quarter of the bottle had solidified. I tried to exchange it for a new bottle but was told by the cashier that her boss would freak out on her if she did this. If they are worried about the cost of a single bottle of sauce, what do you think the chances are that they are selling you old meat?
