Excellent. If you want a lighter meal, try specifying "light batter" on the fish. Great shrimp. Service excellent considering the place was packed!

Inasmuch as we once owned a restaurant...

Inasmuch as we once owned a restaurant specialing in Fish and Chips we feel qualified to say that Captain Jack's is now the best place for a good fish dinner in Guelph. Their batters are both very nice, the portions are not skimpy and they offer a few types of fish as well as shellfish etc. The service is friendly and efficient. Huge home made desserts to finish off the meal - if you have room.

Excellent fish and chips. Good home made coleslaw. Hated the malt vinegar and tartar sauce- can't stand mustard (who would think that there would be mustard in the tartar sauce?)Had take out so will check if there are alternates to malt vinegar and mustard sauce next time.

I frequently go here for lunch with co-workers...

I frequently go here for lunch with co-workers. We find it to be good value for your money especially on All you Can Eat Tuesdays. The staff are very friendly and the fish and chips are great! The decor is pretty plain, but clean.
