First and last ti...

First and last time I will dine there. Went with 3 others. Sat down, guys ordered 2 strongbows, girls ordered Caesars. One girl ordered the double shot. Drinks came, strongbows came out in cans, but the waitress had poured them into pint glasses with ice, so now our beers were watering themselves down. The Caesars came, and looked like watered down sewer water (glass packed with ice, no rimmer, way too much warschter sauce). The top 1/3 of the double shot was pure clear from the double shot of vodka that had not been mixed and didn't do much when stirred due to way too much ice (likely to cheap out and give you less drink). Sent those back because they were so awful. To give moxies some deserved credit, they did give a complimentary drink for the disturbing excuse for a Caesar they brought out. I ordered the fully loaded burger which again, was DELISH! Girlfriend ordered the double cheese nachos which we had specifically asked if they were intact really good (since price was $16.99). We were promised they were the best nachos the waitress had ever had. Needless to say....they weren't worth 5.99. Small portion, stale chips, ironically not alot of cheese at all, not layered with toppings, and only had tomatoes and jalepenos on them. We had about 10 chips between us, and were fed up after they came up cold. Sent them back because they simply were not enjoyable, yet were still charged $20 after tax for something that belonged at a low end bowling alley. Brutal service, bad food/drinks, and by far the worst service. Waitress was upset and sassy that I had requested a beer NOT in ice, and had answered truthfully when she asked how the nachos were. I will not speak for other locations but this one was way below expectations. The only thing I dug about moxies was the atmosphere and the loaded burger. Will not be repeating business anytime soon.

NOT GREAT

I wont go back,steak was terrible,service slow,I think they try,but when things got busy it was a recipe for disaster.They did offer to compensate the price,but all I wanted was a good meal,what I got was a steak I wouldnt serve to a dog.

Good Food

I went with three other people, and we each ordered different kinds of food. The service was great and the owner himself came to ask us how we were doing. The bathrooms were clean and the hand soap smelled good. The food itself was very good; I had one of the burgers, and it was awesome. The rest of my party each thought the food was very good as well. The restaurant also had rockin' music. Music is important. Sometimes places will play terrible songs but this place had it right on with the tunes. The cloth napkins smelled amazing too. It's good to know that you are wiping your face with a freshly washed linen sheet..or so it seems when you breathe the smell in. I recommend this restaurant; before going, I had read the previous reviews and was hesitant to try it out, but it turned out to have excellent service and great food.

Great Experince Always

I've read the reviews and I'm surprised because my experience has always been posative. I've been to this location 4 times. I have nothing but good things to say about the food & service, and I think the atmosphere and design of the place is awesome. I've had great experiences at the Moxies in London and other locations as well.

Meh....ok

The food was not so great. The flavours were missing from everything, and the chicken was overcooked. It had a real nice atmosphere for being in a mall, but the food was gross, overpriced, and the service was overwelhmed for a lunch hour. They couldn't provide adequate service because there wern't enought staff on hand.

It is a pretty expensive place (Over priced). The food is fair and the atmosphere is nice. There are better places to eat in Guelph

I went here with my husband on a Saturday night. We were sat immediately and weren't approached by anyone for 15 minutes. Finally the manager came along and asked how everything was. I told him that I didn't know because we hadn't received any service. He apologized and sent a blond server over who didn't introduce herself. I usually like to get to know the staff when I'm dining out. As previous posts have said, their servers seem to have an IQ of a new born child. She took our order and continued to talk with the manager for a couple minutes before giving our order to the kitchen. It took over an HOUR for our food to arrive. We both had the rack of lamb with the stuffed potato. Everything on the plate was overcooked and tasted as if it was two weeks old. My husband asked for a refill of his coke and our bill when we received our entrees. We finished our entrees and he never got his coke. It's easy for us to say that we will never go back.

After my horrible experience I wanted to come vent on here but it seems all the other posts before me beat me to it. For the price you're paying for roadhouse food you should at least get competant service to go along with it. I sat on the bar side which I think was my first mistake. My server was rude to my date and I, she took her sweet time greeting us and then rolled her eyes when my date ordered water. I ordered a beer she needn't be so moody. She took 15 minutes to deliver our drinks and when we said we were ready to order she said she'd be right back. At this point we were ready to leave when we saw the manager. We informed him(his nametag said "Steve") about the issues we were having and assumed he would do something about it. That was our second mistake. He offered us a free dessert and I laughed at him demanded my bill for the beer I hadn't even drank and left. What a pathetic excuse for a restaurant. Although there are some decent places close by don't waste your money here, it is way too pricey and the service and management is a complete joke.

After that, main course is taken, my daughter asked for the herbed chicken alfredo, but without out the chicken. I had a steak with mashed potatoes and seasonal veg. that was a mistake. It came it was hot, my seasonal veggies, the green beans were woody, the mashed potatoes were the texture of wallpaper paste, the alfredo had the chicken in it, as my daughter proceeded to put it on her side plate. Wait staff came back saw the chicken offered to get a new dish of the alfredo, we said no, it's fine. Then the manager was involved, and we go a free dessert out of the mishap on their part. So I guess it was okay, and these things happen, right.

My partner and I come here quite regularly, and both of us always walk away pleased. We find a variety of menu options even though one of us is vegetarian. Neither of us has been disappointed with a dish. The broccoli-cheddar soup, salads, and aged white cheddar burgers are particularly nice. Cocktails are generally good, although we find some (such as the white peach bellini) have too much slush (crushed ice), taking away from the overall flavour of the drink. The desserts, in particular the sticky toffee pudding, are to die for. 'The atmosphere is wonderful - impeccable design, good music, very friendly. It probably won't date well, so anticipate a renovation in a few years. Looking through the reviews, we see a lot of people complaining about slow service. We've never had less than good service, although we usually dine off peak hours. The servers are friendly and attentive, although we suspect that they were not hired exclusively for performance-related factors.

Wow, this place is a garbage. It looks nice but the food and service is painfully horrible. I went for dinner with my wife and her sister because she said she always wanted to try this restaurant despite the bad reputation it has for slow service and poor food. I read the last review on here and the guy found plastic in his pasta! Anyways their reputation is as bad as it is for a reason. Obviously a really poorly run operation. We were served by a young lady who was obviously hired for other reasons besides her ability to serve tables. She couldnt answer our questions about the menu and laughed when we asked her if she knew what wine would be good with my honey garlic marinated steak. I know nothing about wines she said! Why would you hire someone at a nice expensive restaurant like this if they weren't going to teach you anything? Our steaks came out and were not the right temperature we told the server and she said that they were pretty close to what we ordered! she said she told a manager and that he would be right over. no one ever came to check on us in fact in the two hours we were there for dinner we only saw a manager once and he was talking to the bartender behind the bar. Obviously these people do not care about customer service and i will never be back.

From start to finish this was easily the worst experience I have ever had in nice restaurant. I have been here 4 times now and that is definitely the end of it. The first few times I ate here the quality was very poor. My steak was cooked to the wrong temperature. I asked for rare and it came out medium well! The second steak the cooked for me was the exact same thing. It says on their menu that they will pay for any steak that isn'ta great experience, well I still paid for my steak and the woman working only gave me a free dessert which i didnt even want. The second 2 times I went here were not by choice as I went with some friends. The service was horrendously slow, our orders were not right and every thing was cold! The last and final time I visited this restaurant I had a pasta and I found a chunk of plastic inside it! They bought my meal but honestly thats not enough at this point. For the cost of a meal in this place you think they would be able to do the basics correctly. I for one will never be visiting another Moxies again and I recommend no one else does either

the restraunt is warm,great friendly service, they smile and are nice people. We really enjoy the patio in the summer and would deffinatley recommend it to friends,,,,I never want to leave the washroom...check it out!!! Food...enjoy the notchos and the bar comes with Grey Goose for us Vodka drinkers. Hamburgers are good too...hey it is all good but what it so nice is that it is warm in the winter...Hope you loose the air in the summer cuz that just turns people off....too cold and forget it I'm leaving...so do us women a favour who enjoy wearing summer clothes and not freezing keep your place a great temp. and that means keep it warm...I know the servers need it cool but if you don't have customers you won't need servers and if it is too cold you won't have me...sorry for the ramble but take it to heart...thanks

Great food, terrible service

This restaurant has a good menu and is a little pricey, but worth it for the atmosphere. The servers are gorgeous... unfortunately not all that bright when it comes to service. This would be a favourite choice for me, if they could actually get you a bill within an hour of asking.

My husband and I love this restruant..although I was a little bit confused by the name "classic grill" so we went dressed in jeans and a "T" shirt...BUT the staff was great even tho we were greatly UNDERdressed we were served with the respect and kindness as if we were in suits...BRAVO!!!!!! We have actually been to restaurants where they keep mentioning the price as if to say are you sure you can afford this...but not here it was great!!! thanks to all the staff... (my husband is a blue collar worker who does not care what others think and when he is on afternoons we have lunch together and most times he is dressed for work...ripped jeans and a grease stained "T")

craving a bellini

Went here on saturday with a friend as she wanted a bellini, i had never tried one but decided to give it a shot. We got it moxie sized and oh my was it the best drink ever. It was a blend of peach puree, jamaican rum, sangria and wine. super amazing. i want one now. I decided to order the casadilla, is was also amazing. they were promoting their specials and i also ordered the sweet potato fries. (which were expensive at 7.99, wouldnt have ordered them had i known the price). you really cant finished what you eat when you go here. they fill your plates so come hungry. It was so good i also went back on sunday and ordered the same thing. tried some of my friends chicken tenders and man were they spicy. make sure you have some water nearby. the bill for just two people (without alcohol) came to 27$ not including tip. pretty cheap if you ask me. and the best part is i had leftovers for lunch today :)

Fabulous

Incredible meal. The best service that I have ever had., I have been in there 8 times in the last two weeks and the service and the food have been amazing. We bring many large parties and we have never had a problem! I would recommend to anyone.

Big and nice place to take your date. My food was good but service was kind a slow. No complaint, i enjoyed my dinner, will go back soon.

I'd been meaning to try this restaurant for a while, we were at the mall, so we went in. I love the decor,the atmosphere, it's known that they only hire hot waitresses and you could tell cause they were all pretty. The bathrooms are really nice, be sure to check them out, the women's had a tv, fireplace, lovely lamps above the sinks, pretty pretty. The food was ok. You dont really get anything too fancy with the items we ordered, they are pretty standard. Dip was good, a little small. I would go back and order something more authentic to the restaurant. Service was good, quick on the refills, manager came around and asked us how our food had come out as well.
