Ordered take-out through the just eat app. Restaurant had no idea how to process my order, saying it did not go through and asked me to pay a second time. I stood there for 20 minutes as they played with the cash register and repeated my order multiple times. After getting home I realized they gave me dry ribs instead of a quarter chicken meal, and no garlic toast. Will not be going back to Swiss Chalet. Team was nice but they are too disorganized!!
It was a party of 4 adults and 3 children. We got seated by a great server, but after that the whole thing turned into a nightmare! My grandfather got sick from there food instantly, I couldn't even eat mine because of how disgusting it actually was. My one year old is never picky, and he wouldn't even eat anything but his fries! The server we got did NOT tell us about any deals on or anything, he was rude and slow. We will NEVER return.
I brought in a tour group of 33 people and the manager Jodi and her staff were waiting for us when we arrived. They provided great service and the food was very good. The group all voted they would go back again! Thank you so much! Our travel date was on 9/24/11 and arrived around 6:15pm for dinner. It was also nice being a family restaurant you could order wine, beer etc. One of the ladies in our group was having a birthday and the staff provided a slice of choc. cake and sang Happy B-day!
To be totally honest we have never had a bad meal at Swiss Chalet no matter where or which location we go to. It really has become our old faithful and when we don't feel like experimenting it's off to Swiss Chalet.
There is a great selection to choose from along with a good kids menu and the price is very fair. Where it's wings, soup quarter chicken or even pizza for the kids they do an outstanding job.
Swiss Chalet gets total thumbs up for a great and affordable family restaurant, what else can I say!
The first time we tasted food from Swiss Chalet was a delivery service where we ordered ribs. The service was within expectation but would appreciate if it could be delivered faster (took about 2hours). The food was delivered warm and the ribs still tasted good which prompted us to visit the restaurant.
Our dinner visit to the restaurant was pleasant although it was rather difficult to get the attention of the servers. I suppose they've got an excuse as there was quite a crowd.
The chicken aroma was in the air. The food took a while to come. Would not recommend the appetizer ordered - cheese perogies. The taste was a little weird - overly salted with some sort of a spice on the outside, with a semi soft dough covering and some cheese / potato filling within. Nothing great about it and would never eat it again.
The chicken was tender and moist on the inside and nicely flavoured. Fries was greats - one of the nicer ones.
We had a higher expectation of the ribs as we thought it would be better than the delivery order since it's done at the restaurant. It tasted as good as we had it for the delivery and not any better. The ribs was generally tender with some parts being a bit tougher than preferred. So it's alright but not the best ribs.
I suppose it's the chicken that they are famous for... and I'll say go for those.
