Meet the owner

When Christy Stone-Curry opened The Piano Café in 2002, she had a cozy coffee shop in mind. Today she still serves coffees, but The Piano Café has grown into a 100-seat lunch restaurant with a private dining room for up to 12 people and a 25-seat patio.

Located at the main cross roads in pretty Port Perry, the restaurant has become something of a Port Perry hub with a clientele made up of both visitors and loyal locals. “It’s kind of like a 'ladies who lunch' place,” says Christy. “I’m the lead chef of a team who all have culinary backgrounds. I am the business person, but love the cooking.”

My second visit, came to Port Perry for an afternoon. Loved the texture of the quiche and enjoyed the carrot soup, pasta fusilli salad a little bland, lemon zest and italian oregano and garlic, good olive oil, would kick it up a notch. All was enjoyable, service a little slow, past peek time. Great atmosphere and curtious service, and enjoyed support the arts. A destination spot for sure. Cudos!

A real disappointment. The bread on my sandwich was stale and my french fries were cold. Should get a new chef. Nobody took ownership of the poor food quality and the waitress didn't seem to care.
