Refugee Lawyers Association of Ontario Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers Law Union of Ontario - Immigration Legal Committee Integrated Bar of the Philippines Swathi Visalakshi Sekhar|Barrister & Solicitor Swathi Visalakshi Sekhar has been working with immigrants, refugees and newcomers in various capacities since 2006. During this time she has worked in law offices and legal clinics in Canada and internationally including Montreal, Toronto and South Africa. Swathi received the Ian Scott Fellowship Award from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2009, to design and implement a project focused on the rights of prisoners in Malawi. She remains a strong advocate for prisoner's rights in North America through her work with the Prisoner Correspondence Project in Toronto. While at the Refugee Rights Project in Cape Town, Swathi worked with asylum seekers in the African context, with a specific focus on immigration detention regimes and mobility rights.
