Meet the owner

After a few years as a psychotherapist, Paula Lorimer sensed there was something missing from the conventional approach to therapy. She’d earned her Masters Degree in Psychology before launching her career working with addictions in local rehab centers and running her own private practice on the side. But after seeing over a thousand patients, Paula was at a crossroads. "At a certain point, clients were all 'talked out,'" she says.

Her breakthrough came at an international conference on the treatment of trauma in Boston. There she discovered Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, or SP, an approach to treatment that incorporates the body into the healing process. "Even with modern methods, talking is one part of the equation, but it's not the whole picture," Paula explains. She took what she learned back to her clients, and the results impressed even her.

In 2012, she founded Evolution Psychology Center to bring together mind and body experts under one roof and offer a “whole-person” approach to wellness, healing, and transformation.
