Upon entrance your eyes will likely be drawn to the fish tanks at the far end of the restaurant on the back right side. That is, unfortunately, the extent of the atmosphere the restaurant provides, and otherwise it is just a well-lit room, with tables and chairs that aren't too close together for people to choose from.
So, overall, the atmosphere is rather average for a dining establishment, but at least it doesn't disappoint.
The servers are very nice and the food comes quite quickly. In fact, the second time (and third) that I have gone, the owner himself checked on diners and insured they were enjoying their food.
My company ordered green tea, and got a pot at the table to serve themselves, a nice touch that isn't seen everywhere.
The rice noodle dishes I have had come with a sauce to pour over them that is very tasty, and the meat and noodles were tender and well-cooked. But my favorite dish has to be the beef satay.
It's a spicy noodle soup with lemon grass, some greens, onion and bean sprouts. The spiciness, I suspect, is mostly a result of chili oil, as there is a slightly oily sheen to the soup. If you like spice, noodles and beef, this soup is the ultimate combination of the three.
The food is pretty much good to great, no matter what you get, and most importantly the servings are huge and filling. I've finished bowls of soup and noodles, but usually I have some leftover.
It's a great place, and definitely somewhere anyone who likes Asian food should try if they live in Airdrie. It costs ten dollars a meal, though more if you order something to start or multiple drinks.Read more
