If its beer, its here. Yes Brewery Creek carriies all of the usual wine and spirits that you would expect at a cold beer and wine store but there real specialty is their beer selection. They aren't cheap but they carry the finest beers available in the Pacific Northwest and that I haven't even seen at the biggest government liquor stores. Most times when you go to a wine store that isn't run by the government you expect to pay through the nose for your selection. Not here though! I confess that I don't know most wine prices by hear but Everything Wine seemed to be pretty close if not on par with what the Government stores charge. And the selection! They carried bottles that I have never seen before and also a great selection of vintage products too. They have a wine tasting bar in the store too and they always seem to have interesting wines on offer here that you drink out of class glasses...not those silly little plastic ones that most tastes come in. Speaking of glasses they carry the full, and I mean full, line of Reidel glassware and tell you what type of wine every type of shape is for. If you're buying a gift Everything Wine carries a great selection of ways to wrap your present. They also opened a store at Morgan Crossing in South Surrey and it is every bit as good as this location. Check them out next time you're on the North Shore!

I've been going to Darby's for over 10 years now. It's had it's ups and downs, and right now I think it's in an up place. The food has suddenly gotten a lot better in the last few months, better than some of chain restaurants.
The room is a bit old and dated, but in the evening it has that feeling of being in a buddies basement bar-but with good food.
I would certainly recommend Darby's as an alternative grown up dining environment for anyone in Kitsilano. You get food better than the big box chains, cheaper, and in an environment you don't feel the need to get dressed up for.
