If you ask Saleem Eldessouki what his favourite thing about his corporate Calgary neighbourhood is, he’ll tell you that it’s “the hustle and bustle – it’s always busy.” It’s that love of being busy that led this Commerce graduate to serving the corporate world with his authentic Lebanese restaurant, The Chick Pea. “We pride ourselves on our efficiency at lunchtime,” he says. “Because everyone’s only got a half hour for lunch.

Saleem's drive to serve excellent food efficiently has resulted in The Chick Pea being featured in Where Magazine and the Metro newspaper. The business also won “Where To Dine” awards. Saleem loves every minute of his work, and isn’t one to shy away from the kitchen. “From start to finish, I’m involved with it all,” he says. “I’ve always loved food. I love cooking food.”
