Meet the owner
Named after the South Indian region where he hails from, Manivelar (Manny) Nagarajan proudly shares the tastes of home at Burnaby’s Chettinad Dosa Palace.
For this charismatic restaurant owner, a career in the food industry was a natural choice. The word “Chettinad” means a social caste specializing in food preparation; consequently, the Chettinads are considered master chefs and the local cuisine is renowned as being one of the spiciest and most aromatic in all of India. While the specialities are authentic South Indian dishes, the restaurant's menu also boasts a delicious selection of North Indian cuisine to satisfy all tastes. “Our menu has something for everyone,” says Manny.
Joined by his wife and son, preparing and serving home-style Indian dishes is a family affair here at Chettinad Dosa Palace. “We love cooking for our customers. The dishes we offer them are what we cook for ourselves,” Manny says.
