The origins of De Dutch have a somewhat tragic bent, when the founder John Dys was in a bad car accident and scrambling for work. Between his steely resolve and passion for cooking, he managed to create one of B.C.’s most popular breakfast joints where Dutch-style pancakes merge with Canadian culture. The Canadian features a pancake crowned with eggs, bacon and tomato, while the Maple Banana Walnut is just as it sounds.
