I would like to thank two wonderful ladies,Jordanka from the 5th floor, and Cindy from Levi's on the 6th floor, who went extra mile to find my bag with expensive items that I lost in the store this boxing day. Both of them were not only sympathetic to my problem, but also proactive in efforts to help me. I was in distress but thanks to their actions, my bag was found and they saved the birthday present that I bought for my friend. I cannot thank them enough and hope their managers read this post

I had the worst customer experience ever in the hosiery section (4th floor). The lady in the till (red dyed hair) was not only unhelpful, but also very rude. Her attitude showed she doesn’t like her job and that’s a shame because I am sure many people would like to work there and would provide good customer service. I will not be back to Hudson’s Bay again.

    Still the Best Department Store

Call me old fashioned but I love the Bay. They've been around over 350 years so they must have done something right all this time. There is something nostalgic about wandering around this store, up and down the escalators browsing through the different sections. And at Christmastime anyone of a certain age gets vivid recollections of going to the Bay and especially the toy department to carfeully consider and select what items were going to make the Santa list and then going to pay the big man a visit to let him know exactly which toy you wanted under the tree on the big morning. Even to this day there is something special about doing some Christmas shopping at the Bay downtown. A couple of special notes. We have had the great pleasure of dealing with a fellow named Harry in the furniture department. They Bay still carries some great furniture at some great prices and Harry is an excellent and knowledgeable sales person. The other is to check out the architecture of the building both inside and out. The details and the interesting nooks and crannies are something we will likely never see in a department store building ever again. The last is to mention that the Bay carries an excellent range of the latest brands and merchandise and often has terrific sales. You owe it to yourself to check them out on your next shopping spree!

You can expect to find a reliable selection of classic scents along with the latest releases from designer brands such as Marc Jacobs, Gucci, Dior, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and others. It's also a good place to pick up value-added fragrance sets, particularly around holidays such as Christmas and Mother's Day.

Where to shop for Secret Santa gifts in Vancouver

Hurry past the cosmetics counters and head down to the Bay’s lower level to check out the Canadiana curiosities for sale at the Drake General Store pop-up shop. The quirky Toronto-born boutique carries vintage-inspired patriotic gifts (think Mountie cocktail napkins, artisanal maple syrup, maple leaf patterned socks), kitchenware, foodstuffs and an assortment of unique lifestyle items. For under $25, we love the graphic cocktail glasses, unisex toques and emoji-inspired pins. For something truly festive, check out the irreverent wooden ornaments shaped like pop-culture icons – because who wouldn’t want to hang Björk and Jimi Hendrix from the tree with care?
