total disspointment

We arrived at 6:30 on a Sunday we were seated within 10 minutes, the waiter was a joke, in a hurry not interested it telling about food choices and could barely get our drink orders. We placed our food orders and waited 45 minutes with nothing, we called over the manager to ask where are food was, although apologetically, it did little to speed up the food. The soup arrived first it was horrible and we sent it back asking for a salad, the waiter initially refused to replace the soup it was only after our insisting that he replaced the soup with salad. The food finally arrived and the steak was improperly cooked and had to be sent back, one of the orders of ribs was stone cold and I sent it back and was so disappointing I was unwilling to reorder other food. I spoke again to the manager again and again he was apologetic.. After the meal the check arrived at full cost! I asked to manager to offer some form of consideration given that they had just spoiled our mothers day dinner out with the family. He said he had to talk to the owner.. The owner came out and asked if there was a problem with the bill?? I said what?? and I had to defend why I thought the service and meal was poor and why I felt they should reduce our bill.. The owner refused and only offered a gift certificate ... What a disappointment.. The staff was unprofessional, the owner had no interest in customer service and as for the food... Go across the street to Licks and get a much better meal at a fraction of the cost..

Waldo's on King

My wife and I attended Waldo's for the first time on valentines day 2012. We were very happy with the set menu, the atmosphere was very nice and the staff was very accomodating. The meal was one of the best that we have had. The beef was cooked to perfection, the appetizers were yummy. We were attending the Grand Theatre later in the evening and as our time was running short Joe, our server, was very accomodating. Not only did he provide our meal in a timely and friendly way, he arranged for our desserts to go. Not from the set menu, but from a better selection for travelling. Joe made our moment in Waldo's enjoyable. He is a great respresentative for the restaurant. We intend to go again soon. The only thing that I would add is for the restaurant to provide roses for the ladies on an evening like valentines.

good service - subpar food

I had the philly style cheese steak sandwich with poutine the "steak" looked like regular sliced roast beef you can buy at a supermarket, they heated it up and threw some cheese on it and onions the fries were OK, but the supposed cheese curds were just shredded cheddar and the gravy tasted like that canned garbage you can buy for a dollar the service was quick and polite, but I won't be ordering the same meal again in the future

Chicken souvlaki was SO good

the chicken souvlaki on a pita is extremely tasty.. it reminds me of the ones I had in greece when I visited last summer. Was more like the authentic souvlaki, as opposed to how some other places in toronto that butcher it. Something about their tzatziki makes it delicious and unique as well! must be an old homemade recipe.

Best spot in town!

This is a terrific restaurant for groups of all different sizes. I've been here multiple times and never been disappointed.. the food is delicious, inexpensive and fresh. Their homemade burgers are to die for - seriously the best one in town. I'll keep coming back for the quality food!
