Wow. DO NOT EAT HERE. Only here is the customer never right. I use to love this place and oh how far has it fallen. My brother has a gluten allergy and asked for a separate plate for his food. Waitress just starred at him and said it wasn't possible and walked away.
This place has changed!!!!!' Horizons use to be a wonderful experience with good food, and good service. This is no longer the case. Clearly management has changed. Find another place to eat. The service is just down right awful.
Don't ever go here! I got kicked out of this restaurant for asking for the sausage that came with my breakfast on a separate plate, as I am a vegetarian. I was told by the owner that my only option was to get a vegetable omelette and then he said "actually you can leave. Get out of my restaurant!" Unbelievable! Four mature women trying to have a nice breakfast as we pass through town.
I was a regular customer of Horizon restaurant until today. The waitress refused to take my order because I asked for a side plate to share a portion of my meal with my fiance (who had also ordered a full sized meal). Apparently Horizon's manager has a policy against sharing food. I have never been treated so poorly. The food is fine but it's not worth being belittled and treated like a nuisance for simply trying to order. We will never be returning to this restaurant, nor will our friends or family. I would not recommend this place to anybody.
This is a decent place for a ham and eggs type breakfast. It has a diner atmosphere. Service was okay - would have liked more attention when we got there to get a table. Long wait. Once we sat down our waitress was good. The food was average. Coffee was good! Again a long wait for our bill.
Do not go to this restaurant if you are in a hurry. We waited 55 minutes for our breakfast to come out. When we asked the server if the kitchen had forgotten about us her comment was, that there were two tables before us. WOW! It wasn't busy. There were several unoccupied tables available. I would hate to see how they cope when it is busy. I'm not familiar with the one table at a time kitchen theory. Food was ok but, after waiting that long anything would have tasted ok. I would love Gordon Ramsey to give this place some much needed suggestions.
after taking a long drive down hwy 6 in the early hours of the morning. my group decided it was time for breakfast. After driving around Fergus for around 30mins we finally found a little place called Horizon. The service was friendly with a smile... That was the only thing good about it. The food was standard processed breakfast food. Frozen potatoes from a bag.... canned beans......Cheap imitation sausage links full of nitrates.... The only thing real was the eggs, but they were dry and over cooked. On a good note the staff in their was really friendly. The price per plate was not worth it. If you love a good breakfast skip out on this place!
Despite living close to Horizon for several years, we have only recently discovered it. Good quality food and plenty of it! We love the breakfasts as well as the dinner items. Really frendly servers and a warm welcome. Locals love it, and the line out the door on Sunday mornings tells its own story. It's consistently good. The belly buster burger is as good as any burger I've had anywhere. Highly recommended.
I have ate here many many times over the years that this restaurant has been open. Any small issue I have ever had has been fixed immediately and is the reason I will continue to support this restaurant. The food is always good with a very decent portion. I do find over the years that the menu has got to be quite expensive but the quality and quantity has never changed. The only downside with this restaurant is the washroom. It needs to be larger and more accessible for everyone.
Visited twice in a week -on our way Up North and on our way home - excellent place for breakfast - friendly service - clean washrooms - reasonable pricing - we will be returning soon
The food isn't bad but the service wasn't that good. I felt cramped in a corner there. The parking isn't good either. They don't take reservations so you can't plan ahead. They close early Monday and Tuesday. But.... I would go back again.
The food at the Horizon is the best of the best. My husband and I have ordered just about every item on the menu from one time or another and we have always been very pleased with every entree. We actually love the soup the best but the meals are fantastic and I would highly reccommend this restaurant to anyone who really enjoys food like we do! The staff are the friendliest people ever and the cleanliness of all area's meet all of our high expectations of clean facilities. Just want to thank the owners and all staff members for a job well done! Caroline P.
My family has always stopped at Horizon on our way through Fergus, and it's always been excellent. Large portions, fresh food, and the service has always been good. It isn't fancy, but I've never been disappointed!
I have been coming to this restaurant since almost day one. I have never had an issue ever. It's extremely clean, and the washrooms are well maintained. The only complaint about the washrooms is they are small but well kept. I have had a variety of the food from here and have enjoyed it all. They have excellent soup and their prices are not too bad. I find their chicken souvlaki is the best around in the area. I also have tried the chicken parm which is also quite good. If anyone asked for a good place to eat and not too hard on the pocket book I would recommend Horizons to them.
we try and go for breakie every friday....been other places and nothing compares...good portions, quick service and Deb is the best!!!

This restaurunt was recommended to me by a few people up at the highland games. My dinner was excellent the steak was very tender and flavourful the chicken fettucceni was the best we've had in a while and the service was friendly and fast.
This was our second visit to this restaurant. The first time was very good, but this time was really bad! The onion soup had a funny taste to it and the chicken wings were so salty that you could not eat them! By the time I got the waitress' attention the other two I was with were finished. She did offer to cook something else, but of course I did not want to make the others wait! The two that had the hot turkey said their meal was alright and they both got way too much!
This Restaurant Is Absalutly Wonderful! I Loved Everything About It, From The Homemade Bread, To The Waitresses Uniforms! I Definatly Recommend It To EVERYONE!
Went for another in a series of great breakfasts. Food is plentiful, and the omelettes are incredible...try the bacon with cheese. Waitress/hostess was friendly and attentive. The only complaint I had was that at $2.35 per glass, I'd expect more than I got in the orange juice department. I'll be back to try the dinner as well, as the menu's very tempting and they do breakfast so well...
