    My New Favorite Restaurant

Having heard of this restaurant from a friend, and being a big fan of Thai food, I was eager to try something advertised as "authentic" Thai Food, and boy, was I in for a surprise. Firstly, after going to Thai Memory, it's hard for me to enjoy a Pad Thai from any other restaurant. It's THAT good. In fact, all the food that we tried was delicious. The restaurant itself is unique and beautifully done. I love the decor and design. It really added to the experience. My experience with the service has always been top notch. I haven't had the chance to go during a busy day, so perhaps my few might be a bit biased, but the service has always been kind, accommodating and quick.

    Fantastic !!

Best pad-Thai I have ever had, period. Very authentic decor inside. Don't let the location / neighbourhood throw you off, our group had a fantastic dining experience.

    WOW.. GREAT FOOD & ATMOSPHERE

My boyfriend and i decided to try Thai Memory for our 2 year anniversary and WOW are we glad we did!! We were greeted and seated right away, the decor and smell of the place is great, relaxing calming mood/music. The menu was a bit overwhelming, so take a look at their menu online first to have an idea what you want. There are SO many options. Their main dishes don't come with rice/noodles you order that seperately. We shared the spicy chicken fried spring rolls, i got the pineapple chicken curry with jasmine rice, and he got shrimp pad thai. All three items were outstanding! So much flavour, and just the right spice. my order was a bit oily, but overall it was very good and i'd go back again and again. Price was right too! for all that + he got a coke i got the thai iced tea came to $39! Thanks Thai Memory for leaving a memory with us!

    AMAZING Thai Food!!

It's very difficult to find great eats in Hamilton, but this little gem was hiding downtown. Initially I went with a group of clinicians, and I had the most memorable experience there! I ordered the Red Curry Chicken and it was the best thai dish I've had. I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great night out for good eats.

Went for Mother's day, ye I'm a little late reviewing but oh well. The appetizer we had was fantastic, Miang Kam, and the coffee is really, really great. I ordered the basil duck and it was awful, granted I've never had it before so maybe that's just how it's supposed to be and just not my taste. The coconut rice on the side was sweeter than most desserts, tasted like it was loaded with powdered sugar, gag! Mum had the pad thai and says it was good. Her bf had curried duck and says it was ok but not great. They were busy I guess because it was Mother's day but the service was not very good, rushed us out and we had to send the bill back so we could have coffee after dinner. They never asked, the boss looking guy just chucked the bill on the table. Waitress was good though and nice, those stars are hers. Cute decor and we all loved the swinging bench they have by the entrance. Might go back but not in a rush.

    Good buffet

After wondering where to go for lunch and doing a quick search of reviews on restaurantica, we decided to try Thai Memory. After reading the online menu which said we could get either a lunch combo or take advantage of the Friday only lunch buffet we were excited to see what the had to offer. When we got there however, the sign out front said that Fridays was lunch buffet and regular menu only. Although the price (10.95) for the buffet seemed a little on the pricier side for the size of buffet, we decided to try it out. The place has a lot of decor, and even a few items on for sale, including a Ten Commandments plaque and Thailand type souvenirs. One coworker we went with is a vegetarian and after taking a quick peek of the buffet, he wasn't sure if he wanted to partake in the buffet as it didn't look like there were many vegetarian items. However, after talking to one of the wait staff, he was pleasantly surprised that there were quite a few dishes that were vegetarian. After trying the buffet, we are all for going on another day of the week to try one of their combos. The spices and aromas of the food from the buffet was just amazing. The food tasted great. The only two things I wasn't a huge fan of was that the food didn't seem to be as hot (temperature wise) as it should have been and that it was a little too dark, but you quickly get used to dim lighting and the food was still great tasting.

    Thai Memory-Bliss

Thai Memory is, overall, one of the nicest dining experiences in downtown Hamilton. We arrived hoping to sample the lunch buffet, but found that this had been replaced by an extended "lunch specials" menu, starting at $6.99-$11.99 (for items including the shrimp and seafood selections). This menu reflected a good variety of options, including vegan, seafood, and the usual meat selections. Seated by the babbling fountain surrounded by murals and ornate wooden tables, I was immediately thankful for the respite of this elegantly attired sanctuary. I ordered the massamum gai ($8.95), a fragrant coconut-milk based curry amply brimming with chicken, accented with roasted peanut ,potatoes, carrot ,and fragrant bay leaves. This came accompanied with an appetizer-portion of mango salad and a crispy taro spring roll, with sweet chilli sauce. My partner ordered the chicken pad thai ($6.95), an authentic tamarind-based sauce adorning rice noodles garnished with crushed peanuts, lime, and cilantro. This came accompanied with the same taro spring roll and a small daily soup, a tom-yum soup scented with fresh galangal, lime leaves, and lemongrass. Yum! To our pleasant surprise, the food was brought out at a prompt but even pace suited to the lunch crowd. My only complaint was that the ambient temperature remained chilly, given the changing early November weather, but overall, a fine experience. I gave this place 5* for food, as the quality and attention to culinary detail rivals all other Thai restaurants in the surrounding area, and to me, is therefore "best." While the absence of lunch buffet was initially a dissappointment, the outstanding quality, variety of lunch options, and portion left our party entirely amazed, and wondering why we don't eat here more often. We will surely return, and soon.

Best Thai in Hamilton and Surrounding Area!

This was by-far the best Thai restaurant I’ve been to. I usually frequent My-Thai Restaurant in either Hamilton (not very good) or Ancaster. These do not compare in any way to Thai Memory. Our visit was during lunch. Please note dinner costs more, likely $11-$25 per person. I will begin with the atmosphere and décor in the restaurant. It is absolutely done-up to the max, and absolutely gorgeous in there. All the little statutes, jeweled frames and bowls, Asian umbrellas, beautiful water fountain, and the nets with the colourful silk sheets on the ceiling make this restaurant give you a total Thai vibe. Even the tables are made of absolutely gorgeous carved wood. This restaurant is beautiful. I also like that they play traditional Thai music, as opposed to K-LITE fm, etc. at other Thai places in Hamilton. Secondly, the service here was excellent, right down to the traditional uniforms worn by the waiters. They are very polite and attentive. They do speak English, which is also a plus. The food was amazing. Please note that it is a little different than what is served at other Thai places, as at Thai Memory they continue to cook very traditionally. I am not a huge fan of pad thai, but decided to order it because of the favourable reviews I read on this site. My husband had the beef rice noodle soup. Our waiter brought out our appetizers very promptly, which were included in our meal. I had the soup of the day and a spring roll (the deep fried kind, not the raw ones), and my husband had a spring roll. We both agreed that the spring rolls tasted a little different than the other ones we’ve had. They were a little peanutty, which was very delicious and gave them a little zest. I’m not sure what kind of soup I had, but I wish I remembered, since it was amazing. It was red, VERY flavourfull, a little spicy, and there was a lot of mushrooms in it. No meat. The main courses were amazing. I never thought I would actually enjoy a pad thai! The meat was cooked to perfection, and they seem to add more peanut pieces than any other restaurant. I did not need to put any salt or pepper on my meal, which was a total shock. My husband really enjoyed his soup, and to my surprise (he does not like Thai food), requested we go there more often! We both left very full and satisfied, and I even had leftovers! All of this for under $20! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. We were very impressed.

    Best Pad Thai

My wife and I just moved from Britian and we have been looking for an authentic Thai restaurant. Our search was over when we found Thai Memory. We have been trying Pad Thai at many so-called Thai restaurants around town but it was not really Pad Thai that we know. All of us wanted to try Thai Memory Pad Thai and we were all satisfied :)

    Best Thai food

I have to start by saying thanks to the owner of Thai Memory. We had a birthday surprise for our friend here because we know she loves it here. The owner was very helpful and tried to accommodate us not only with the best Thai food I ever tasted but also a little thing like taking our pictures and sent them to us via email...very very thoughtful. And they are very good pictures too.. So besides the best food, we absolutely enjoyed the atmosphere, the music and the hospitality of Thai Memory...Indeed it was our good Memory.

I'm a Thai student here. Thai Memory has been a home away from home for me and many other Thai students. Their food is very authentic (as close as you can get provided that some ingredients are hard to find here) We are Thai so we know how the real Thai food should taste like. If there is something we want, the owner will cook for us even though it is not in the menu. Thank you Thai Memory for being a second home for us all.

    Not impressed

Atmosphere was great but was not pleased at all with the food and service was disgusting. The food was bland and didn't have much flavour so when i spoke to the owner he was defensive and very rude. He said this is how it was done in Thailand. I have just gotten back from Thailand and the food was nothing like 'Thai Memory'. We did not eat the meal but were charged for our entire meal. Just a terrible experience overall.
