Disgusting service

They messed up my order. I requested rice noodles but instead received fried rice. I understand that mistakes happen. However, when I approached the owner, she yelled at me saying that she already poured the rice on my plate and she would hate to waste. Next, the rice had a small short hair in it. I told the manager about the hair again she told me that I am looking for ways to exchange my rice to noodles. Worst of all... I over paid for food that I didn't even order. Never eating here again.

Chinese or Canadian?

I am unsure if the location on Boler Road at Baseline in the Byron village area is the best, but do look for this restaurant at this small mall. I was warmly greeted into an attractive area that was well-spaced with some group tables having the essential 'Lazy-Susan' centerpiece. The atmosphere would feel more Chinese if there was more than a few Chinese lithographs on the wall. I noticed an obviously frequent Chinese customer and a party of Koreans present, and I became the token Canadian. For some illogical reason (It was lunch time) I decided to order one of the lunch combos. When it was delivered, I asked the server if it was her kind of meal, she quickly said, "No" and explained that she preferred Chinese food! I should have known better and kicked myself. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the combo, especially the chicken balls which were large with solid chicken. The server returned halfway through asking how it was and I was a little perturbed by her turning away before I had time to say, "Fine." I began to notice that her communication often seemed to be scripted. During my stay, I noticed the server apologizing to the Korean group for giving them a Canadian menu instead of a Chinese menu. Knowing that few Koreans speak Chinese, I realized that the menus do, in fact, contain some different dishes. I mention this, because many reviewers complain about the lack of genuine Chinese food - therefore, if you are looking for real Chinese food, do not use the lunch menu because the (Available all day) dinner menu contains an amazing variety of satisfying dishes ... and if still uncertain, question the server. Some weeks later, I was able to return with my partner, a Chinese woman who has spent her whole life in the Sichuan (Szechuan) province of China. I had explained to her of Sichuan dishes and she was happily looking forward to an enjoyable meal. Unfortunately, and not surprisingly, after a detailed discussion with the very pleasant manager, although the menu describes Sichuan dishes, there are NO SICHUAN dishes at this restaurant. We ordered Chicken w/peanuts, Sizzling Beef w/ginger, and Tofu w/minced pork. Personally, I enjoyed these dishes, but it was an unhappy birthday meal for my partner. This disappointment, common to 90% of the Cantonese Chinese restaurants in North America, requires some comment. Twenty years ago no one visited mainland China (PRC) including the Cantonese Chinese in Hong Kong. Therefore, very little was known about the Sichuan cuisine. But today, many foreigners travel to China, and have acquired a taste for it. The Sichuan cuisine is NOT the Cantonese cuisine with the addition of more chilies ... it requires a totally different variety of spices. It is time for all Chinese restaurants to be aware of misleading information.

This is a nice place. Very quiet, friendly staff and great food. We've been there a half dozen times and got delivery a few times and we've been very pleased. The Bobo tray always goes over well.

Amazing. Extremely friendly and funny servers who remember us every time. Best Chinese food in town, as long as you get the legit stuff — don't waste your time and money on deep-fried chicken balls or ribs. The vegetable and noodle dishes are awesome. Good for takeout and delivery too. If you go early you won't even need a reservation. Expect to wait longer on weekends. Order a bunch of dishes and share with your party. If you're not sure what to order, tell your server you want to try something new - you might be delighted, you might be disappointed - either way, it'll be interesting.

Pretty average for the price (about $45) on the whole but I definitely would not recommend the sweet and sour ribs. There was no meat on them, just a lot of fat and bone and they did not taste fresh. We each had one piece and threw out the rest (it was a take-out order).

The best Chinese place we have been able to find in London. The staff is friendly and remembers you when you come back. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing--it makes for a much more enjoyable meal than the big Chinese buffets. My only complaint is that we rarely have enough leftovers for the fridge.

First dined here with my husband (boyfriend at the time) when I was 16 years old and now, 20 years later, we still enjoy the Bo-Bo Tray, Dinner for two, as does our daughter! This was a Friday nite tradition that has waxed and waned over the years, but we always end up coming back to what we believe is the best Chinese Food in town!!
