My husband and I love fish and chips. Halibut was always the favorite.
It is getting really pricey tho and the girl at this restaurant explained to me that halibut is becoming extinct and talked me into trying the haddock instead. I was a little worried at first but when i got it home.... I was so happy I did. Wow... the portions were more then enough and the batter... amazing!!!!
I also got my husband the homemade chowder and he ended up going back for more the next day for lunch.
I'm not sure what people are talking about having to pay for condiments. I was offered the packets of tartar sauce but choice to buy their homemade for ... I think it was $1. Well worth it!!! Those packet things... not my thing.
We will be returning again this week for my father in laws birthday as they need to try this place!!!
Olde London Fish & Chips has very small portions and are considerably more expensive than other Fish & Chip restaurants in London. I ordered 1 Halibut & Chip dinner and the largest item of my order was the dinner roll. They also charge upto $.15 per condiment. They hardly give you any fries and the fish was small. For what little food I got from them $21.06 was a lot of money. I won't go back there.
Yum yum yummmm! Best fish and chipss! The batter is great and the haddock fish always has that natual sweetness! The meat is very smooth and fluffy. I would also order dads root beer too that comes in a bottle.
It's usually busy during dinner time. Most of the customers are usually families and the older folks. The restaurant is small and it would be nice if they expanded it a little. It may even help their earning potential by having more seats avaliable for their customers.
The service is usually very friendly and the place makes you feel like everyones family.
I went here for a birthday party with my sister she really enjoys it. I must say the staff was great the cook cut the cake we brought in and just made us feel very welcome. He also checked on us to make sure all was well, which I thought was nice. The chowder was so creamy and you could tell homemade. The fish was good so is the batter we ordered batter bits just fried batter peices(don't think we were charged hehe) Overall it was a great experience Thank you Olde London
If Fantastic Fish and Chips are what you are craving this place will satisfy!!!!!! We have visited this resturant now for over 10yrs. Thier Seafood Chowder is amazing!!! The portions are huge and they make the best Tartar sauce.The dining room is cozy and the staff are great!!!!.
