Best Fish and Chips in town. The Burgers are homemade and excellent. My wife and I had a great time. We went to celebrate mothers day and the owner greeted us with Strawberry Dipped Chocolate. The place was jam packed with costumers. The waitresses were very nice and helpful. I also ordered Take Out, that's how much I enjoyed their food.
Thank you to the Riverdale Family Restaurant for looking after a group of 30 business owners who were told on very short notice that the usual breakfast meeting spot would not be able to accommodate us. One call to Riverdale and everything was in place for us to meet at their facility. Food and facilities were great and the staff was phenomenal with excellent service!
It's pretty hard to ruin breakfast but they managed it! My husband had a hair in his poached eggs. He pointed this out to the waitress who returned the dish of eggs to the kitchen, only to return three minutes later with the same dish of eggs and requesting my husband to point out the hair as the chef couldn't see it! My husband showed her the hair and she made her way back to the kitchen again. By this time, the rest of my husband's breakfast was cold and I was about half way through mine. No apology and there was nothing taken off the bill for ruining our breakfast! The restaurant is shabby (and not in a good way), the seat upholstery is split and tired looking. The place is dirty (we watched a waitress spill milk all over the carpet and not clean it up), the service is clearly lacking and the breakfast, minus the hair, is mediocre at best!
Today my Wife, Mother-in-law and myself were out taking care of some business. We decided to go out for Lunch as it was approaching 1pm. We were headed to the "Tasty Coast", but it was closed due to being Saturday.
My Wife suggested going around the corner to "Riverside Family Restaurant". We arrived at after the lunch rush at about 1pm. When we arrived we seated ourself as the sign said. Within a reasonable amount of time "Patricia" greeted us at table 23/1. We ordered from the lunch menu and had two roast beef sandwiches which need no prep time and should be ready. Also my Mother-in-law had a Seniors pork cop meal. In addition we had two garden salads.
We received our salads after a short while and then nothing else came. After right about a hour of sitting there and trying to be patient, we mentioned to a waitress that we had a need to check on our order.
The amount of time was unacceptable and the crowd had subsided and there was still no food. When it finally came there was no customer service. One waitress walked past and said, "Pork Chops do take a long time. The attitude was that it was not there fault and we should just deal with it. I was very unhappy and the waitress did not keep us informed or handle us in any correct manner. Also no follow up visits to the table. I felt like we were completely invisable. I will not give another opportunity to be treated this poorly. The food was very simple and the hot beef sandwiches were not worth the 10.45 a piece. The actually added 50 cents per meal for gravy on the mashed potatoes. May be they dont care about customers and just want a greasy spoon sort of place that pays the bills.
The Riverdale Restaurant is staffed by wonderful people that make the dining enjoyable. The food is not fancy but it is tasty properly cooked and the serving sizes are always just right. Over All a nice place to bring the family for a meal

We had the most enjoyable time for lunch. Our waitress was courteous, attentive and the hostess had a table ready for us quickly. The stir-fry was the best I've ever had and the breakfast was great, my eggs were perfectly cooked! The new owners are very polite and willing to help get you anything you need. We will definitely be back and passing the word on about this great restaurant.

Riverdale is by far my favourte restaurant. It's never a long wait (you can frequently seat yourself wherever you want) everyone is friendly, its a wonderful atmosphere, the price is always the cheapest out of anywhere, and by far the food is the best! ive never had a bad meal there! They're speedy too! Overall it was an amazing dining expereince!
