I recently found out about about Giorgio D from Groupon. I bought a discount coupon and decided to give this restaurant a shot.
The interior of the restaurant is average. The staff is friendly and don't make you wait too long.
Then comes the food.
We had appetizers, main entrees and deserts. Appetizers are extremely overpriced and don't taste good. Main entrees are also extremely overpriced and tasted worse than food court meals.
My friends ordered NY steak and got a low grade meat with 2 tiny pieces of potatoes for a side dish. Steaks were tasteless and were hard to chew.
My wife and I had seafood dishes. Both of us were disappointed and didn't finish our meals.
The only food we liked were deserts, but that was overpriced as well.
Even if we didn't pay over $150 (after 65% discount), I wouldn't go back, because the food is NOT good.
Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
Split pea soup was great, ceasar salad was good, but penne a la vodka not great, no pancetta to be found in it and the penne was dry, barely any sauce. Bread was good but no refill offered. Cappucciono's was ok, but not spectacular. I might consider trying it once more to see what the chicken or fish is like, but I don't give any restaurant 3 chances.
Had the grilled seafood platter and it was amazing. A gem in the north west corner of Toronto. A surprising nice selection of wines. Very tempting steak, I will try next time.
