Last night I ordered the breaded sweet and sour shrimp. The batter was thin, the shrimp were not coated properly and inside they were shrunk down and dry with a metallic taste. I called New Town this morning to express my concern. He claimed to have inspected the food before it was packaged and refused 4 times to remake it even after I spent over $65 in food. Really bad customer service. I will not be supporting their mediocre food and business anymore and I recommend others do the same.

I've been going to New Town for years and it has never disappointed me since. It's a takeout only place, so make sure you have somewhere to sit to eat! The dumplings were amazing. A little bit of spice, and peanut butter, and it literally melted in your mouth. Amazing curry. This is my type of curry they serve - not too hot and not to overwhelming. Cleaned out the dish it came in and left me wanting more!

Best I've had so far
I've tried a lot of the dishes. From the chow mein, to chicken fried rice, to general tao's chicken, to dumplings to the great egg rolls. The egg rolls on their own are very special. best ive ever had. It's always fresh and it tastes great. please try the chow mein and at least egg rolls here and taste it against another place. new town will win no doubts in my mind.

I have eaten in many chinese take out and eat in establishments in Ottawa. The food here is very good and the portions are fair to large. Since my first time I have ordered there many times again and have made it one of my number one locations for take out food.

It's the best Chinese take out in Ottawa. My family owns a Chinese restaurant and it's hard for other Chinese people to eat at other Chinese food restaurants but I love this place. The food is extremely good for the price and quantity that you get. You can't beat it when it comes to great quality, great price and great quantity. I recommend this restaurant.

The food was just ok. We were expecting a bit better because of the previous reviews here. The wouldn't offer us no MSG in all of the dishes. I asked for pan fried noodles with sauce, which isn't on the menu, but should have been possible and they said NO. I asked for cantoneese chowmein with just veggies, they said ok, but its the same price as with meat. The person taking our order by phone was short and in a hurry.

I've tried many different chinese food...
I've tried many different chinese food restaurants in search of the perfect sweet and sour chicken balls and I have found it! all the other places either had creat sweet and sour sauce and foul chicken balls, or vice versa. I order New Town chicken balls at least once a week!
