Always a good time but sometimes food can be a let down. Chicken, meh....but the chicken wings are great. Pizza is a toss, excuse the pun but I've great nights and sadly don't like it nights. It can get really loud so be prepared if you are bringing the grandparents (they may want to turn down their hearing aids). It's kid friendly on one side and has obviously long time locals and party people on the bar side as well. A nice mix all around.

WORST MEAL AND SERVICE EVER!!! The food is USUALLY OK. It is a corner bar, and you get what you expect. I wouldn't know how it was today. I understand a restaurant can be busy, and tonight they were. We waited about 1/2 hour to sit. Again...understandable, as it was busy. We sat, Waitress came over, got our drink order and a few minutes later got our food order. My fish and chips arrived cool. The fish was mushy and greasy. The batter was the same. My advice to everyone is to never order this mess of a dinner. As for the back bacon sandwich, a toasted bun and a piece of real melted cheese would be nice. Noisy atmosphere.

The reason people like this place is not for the food, or service but they put on all sorts of activities like beer drinking clubs, and football and hockey pools with various prizes. People go here to watch the games with friends and have pub food and drink. The food is as I said typical pub food its nothing special. The service has been fine and haven't had any problems. Even with parties of 8 we didn't have to wait long for food. If you go when its super busy you can't really complain about having to wait and get cold food.

My wife and I visit Bugsy's weekly and have been for a number of years. First off the servers; Dave, Mike and Bruce are always friendly and professional. They provide prompt, curtious service and always make us feel welcome. We had my daughters wedding reception party there in Feb. '08 and the staff went above and beyond my expectations. Everyone one who went now attend there as regulars. To those who have had a bad experience and said nothing to the staff, shame on you if this is the only way you can make our feelings known. Don't come again as it means I won't have to wait in line for the likes of you!!

I have lived in St. Catharines for 5 years and have gone to Bugsy's a few times because it is near where I live. Every time I leave I claim that I will never return. Foolishly I have not followed my own advice. Until now. I can't believe some people think the food is good at his restaurant. It is usually cool or cold, arrives late at your table and is served by some little "chippie" who appears to be still in high school and doesn't have a clue about proper resturant ettiquette. Not only that, the value for the quality of the food and service is overpriced. If you want a noisy bar type atmosphere oten filled with parents who let their kids run around the establishment unsupervised then this is the place for you. Otherwise stay away. The food is awful and the service is not much better. Two thumbs down on this one.

I agree with wutever's review. I too feel the restaurant is not going but gone down hill. I don't know what the french fries were supposed to be, but they tasted like yesterdays refried over again. Change the oil- tasted burnt. Fries have always been bad. Service was okay. Should have ordered perogies -they are great.

The food was great. The rib platters came with the ribs, fries (or baked potato) and onion rings. There was so much food that we did not finish. The service was good as it is moreso a bar than a restaurant. They also have over 100 beers available at all times which is a pretty interesting idea. We will definately be returning soon.

Little to no service, when they did com by they were surley, curt and generally rude. The food was mediocre, store-bought frozen burgers, greasy fries, powder gravy and processed cheese singles. Terrible all around. Don't waste your time.

It has been a long time since I had a pizza with real cheese on it. It was terrific. And the wings were huge. At other places they are scrawny and not dont have much meat on them. As usual, the Rueben and fresh cut fries were great.

food: deep fried dills were cold and mushy when they got to the table. The dip was fantastic. Spag. was really mushy and flavourless. Try some salt and pepper. oh take it off the heat as well. or try and cook it fresh. Spag. sauce tasted like it came from a tin. There was no body to it and it waas really runny(or was it water from the pasta?). The meatballs were amazing. WOW!!! Definatly should order 100 of these on the side to take home!!! Kids dino buddies: yeah deep fried with plum sauce. My daughter didn't like them at all (they didn't even look like chicken inside). Fries: Were almost black from the dirty oil and really mushy, they tasted like burnt oil as well. Again some seasioning after being cooked would help. Serving the food instead of having it sit under a heat lamp would help a lot as well.. Or just hire some people that knew how to cook..Just my opinion Harp: What's to say. Have enough of it and everything is always good!

The calamari was great and not over cooked which is hard to find. The service was good but not amazing, as we could see our food sitting waiting to be picked up nut the waitress did not. She was friendly and everything went very well. The sandwiches were great and a good size.

Good times, they moved the tables around to accomodate. even tho i wrote there was 4 of us, we were with around 10, but just the 4 of us split a bill. the beer was cheap, the food was good, and they waited on us quite well.
