Last week two friends and I went for food around 4:30. I ordered a burger and my friends ordered sandwichs. There was hardly anyone there at the time and our food took 45 minutes to arrive. Many people arrived after us and had their food before we did. Our server did not acknowledge the food was taking a long time until two minutes before she brought it out. The food was alright, other than my burger being a bit dry. The service is enough for me to never return. Very very disappointed.

A popular two-floor Irish pub/restaurant/sports bar, O’Grady’s lures crowds of students, professors and neighborhood folks with a broad selection of reasonably priced pub grub, greasy spoon favorites and draught beer. O’Grady’s also features a number of deals, including lunch specials and late-night drink specials that are popular with undergraduates in particular. Located right across College Street from the U of T gates, it’s also a convenient distance from the lecture hall.
Remarkably Complete
O’Grady’s’ menu has a large selection of dishes that are typical of a neighbourhood pub or restaurant. Sandwiches include the clubhouse, BLT, Western and grilled cheese, to name a few. Salads include tossed, Caesar, Greek and julienne vegetables. With a name like O’Grady’s you’d expect some British fare and the pub doesn’t disappoint with the shepherd’s pie and Scotch meat pie. Popular nachos are also on the menu, as well as an all day breakfast. O’Grady’s even offers souvlaki. Burgers are available with all the fixings one might expect – bacon, cheese, mushrooms – as well as some completely unexpected toppers. More than a dozen draft beers plus a few micro brews are available to accompany your meal.
Upstairs, Downstairs
O’Grady’s offers comfortable surroundings on both floors, with dark hardwood tables and chairs. A long bar graces the main floor, with several stools to sit on while you enjoy a solo pint. Upstairs clientele can play while they drink – there are three pool tables, a foosball table and a couple of arcade games.

This place has the worst food and service I have ever visited. If you have money to spend, I suggest you try something up or down the street instead of wasting money on the over-priced food and absolutely horrible service.

The ho-hum stag and doe gets thrown on its ear at this casual gay village haunt, where the scene is lively and guests are always gunning for a party. The more affianced among them will find plenty of liquid courage by way of a huge selection of boozy offerings, including martinis and pitch-perfect sangrias. The huge patio on the side extends the experience during the warmer months.
With some of the best hair-of-the-dog specials in the city, we love O'Grady's because it's perhaps the one place in Toronto where no matter how inhumanly hungover we are, there are a dozen people here in worse shape, due to its proximity to the U of T campus. Schadenfreude is actually the best medicine. That, and eminently affordable Caesars – $3.50 each, every Friday.
