China Court Restaurant & Tavern

Been going to this restaurant for years the food is excellant. The lady that runs the place is down to earth and friendly even tho I can't understand half of what she says she always makes you welcome.

This was the WORST dining experience I've ever had. I arrived at about 10pm and was the only person in the dining room. The atmosphere...well, made me feel like I was sitting in my basement. Most of the lights didn't work, there was a huge and dirty chest freezer in the dining room! At the far end was a LCD TV that the staff were too busy watching their Chinese TV to notice I had arrived. When they did notice, they were quick to come with a menu. I ordered, the old Chinese lady left and came back 2 minutes later. She talked my ear off for 10 minutes, I was trying to politely let her know that I didn't want any company and she didn't take the hint. Sheeesh! I asked for water, she came back with a small glass of who knows where it came from and the glass was dirty. I didnt' touch it. The food was TERRIBLE!! The WORST food I've had in ANY restaurant. Chicken balls were chewy, food was cold by the time I got it, rice was undercooked, sweet and sour sauce was neither sweet or sour. The insult came when I paid the bill. The menu clearly stated the combo I ordered was $6.45. They charged me $9.50. I asked and they said that te menu didn't include tax. I told them that tax was only 13% and she said that's what it came to. I protested and told her to do the math. She wouldn't listen THEN handed me the menu and showed me where it said, "Prices subject to change without notice". WHAT A RIPOFF!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then she tried to tell me she didn't have change for my $20. I started to walk out without paying and she said they would call the police. I told her to go ahead and I'd wait for them to come where I could file my own complaint. They backed off and gave me change. On the way out, I saw a cockroach on the wall. I'LL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS DIVE!!!!

Take out Order

We usually get take out when we order from here. On occasion we will eat in. You have a hard time understanding the Old Lady sometimes and try to make out what she says. I believe her grandchildren help out in the restaurant. Service is fairly quick and food is excellent.

Waitress takes your order, brings the food, clears the table and brings the check. Nothing over the top. Old Chinese couple may not know English very well, but they know how to cook!
