Meet the owner

On May 30, 2007, at the age of 20, Jonathan Barroso became co-owner of the restaurant Le Grill Barroso located on Sherbrooke Street East in Montreal. After seeing the success of the first restaurant that opened in 2013 on Ontario Street, Jonathan and his father decided to open an outlet in the east end of the city.

After working in his father's various restaurants throughout his teenage years, it seemed natural for Jonathan to work in industry, even at a young age.

Can’t-miss Portuguese restaurants in Montreal

Can’t-miss Portuguese restaurants in Montreal

The petiscos (tapas) are sublime; the octopus, squid, chorizo and chicken quite simply excellent. If you feel like eating on the nearby waterfront, all of the dishes can be ordered to go. The chicken special family meal is definitely value for money!

Your guide to grilled Portuguese chicken in Montreal

Your guide to grilled Portuguese chicken in Montreal

Near Jacques-Cartier bridge on Ontario Street, Grill Barroso offers delicious meals with sizable portions. The staff is super friendly, and the lighting is dim and the atmosphere relaxed. This is a great place to take your sweetheart on a date and enjoy the grilled chicken together. In addition to their epic chicken, Grill Barroso’s fries are also quite satisfying, and their grilled chorizos are also rather good.
