Meet the owner

Ask Kobi Bensjacob about his life’s work and the answer comes with no hesitation: he just loves taking care of animals. “I’ve always loved animals, especially dogs and cats,” he says. “Before I started Snip Doggy Dog, I worked for the family doors and windows business. I enjoyed working there, but when my father died in 2006, I figured it was time for me to go my own way, to build something by myself. So I left, and after much reflection, decided to go into grooming.”

Kobi then trained under a professional groomer, who taught him all the secrets of the trade. “I worked with her for a few years in order to hone my skills, and when I felt confident that it was time for me to strike out on my own I opened Snip Doggy Dog on Monkland.” Kobi’s salon began welcoming first furry clients in 2009.

    Wonderful groomer. Terrible store front.

    The groomer is excellent. He does beautiful work and is very gentle with the dogs. The store is dirty and dusty, and there is no comfortable place to wait. I have to wait because I come by taxi and it's bad enough paying for two trips, never mind four. The place was so cold!

    Great service

    I went with a friend who has a dog who can be difficult. They had an appointment made a couple of months prior. Because of a storm the day before the place was swamped with extra dogs. We were still taken in promptly. The dog needed to be muzzled and the owner did this quickly and neatly. The cut was done to a high standard and done quickly. I would recommend this salon highly.

    Friendly and professional

    My appointment was at 8:30 am and I was greeted promptly and courteously. My dog was happy to be left in their care and when I returned my dog looked perfectly clean and handsome. I'm very happy with his bath, brushing, trim, and nail clipping. I brought my other dog to have his nails clipped later in the day and I was very impressed with how the owner handled my dog who is extremely phobic of having his nails clipped. Well done! I will definitely be a return customer!

    Not Impressed!

    I made an appointment with this shop to have a cat groomed. When I showed up on the Saturday morning 5 minutes early to find a closed store, I hoped they would come soon. After 20 minutes, a phone call to their answering machine and no signs of life, I left. They don't even have hours posted on their door! A bad first impression and one that will never tempt me to use them again. The neighboring shops just laughed when I asked about this place.
