The regulars of the upper town/lower town route are very familiar with the ascenseur de la rue Saint-Vallier Est, a convenient alternative to climbing the immense staircase. However, it is worth stopping at the bottom of the stairs and visiting this small restaurant, where everything is homemade and reasonably priced. Menu items include quiche, soupe, salad and sandwiches.
