I’ve been to Dog and Bear many times. It’s a traditional British style pub. It’s laid back and chill, not a place for an event but definitely a place to hang out with the friends and grab some pints. Football(soccer) lovers as owners the screens always have good matches on during the season. If you are there on a day where west Ham and Man U go head to head you will likely see the rivalry as friends and supporters pile in and sit in separate sections of the bar to cheer for their teams. "Cheap eats and cheap drinks make O’Grady’s a popular choice around the University of Toronto."
After Class Destination
A popular two-floor Irish pub/restaurant/sports bar, O’Grady’s lures crowds of students, professors and neighborhood folks with a broad selection of reasonably priced pub grub, greasy spoon favorites and draught beer. O’Grady’s also features a number of deals, including lunch specials and late-night drink specials that are popular with undergraduates in particular. Located right across College Street from the U of T gates, it’s also a convenient distance from the lecture hall.
Remarkably Complete
O’Grady’s’ menu has a large selection of dishes that are typical of a neighbourhood pub or restaurant. Sandwiches include the clubhouse, BLT, Western and grilled cheese, to name a few. Salads include tossed, Caesar, Greek and julienne vegetables. With a name like O’Grady’s you’d expect some British fare and the pub doesn’t disappoint with the shepherd’s pie and Scotch meat pie. Popular nachos are also on the menu, as well as an all day breakfast. O’Grady’s even offers souvlaki. Burgers are available with all the fixings one might expect – bacon, cheese, mushrooms – as well as some completely unexpected toppers. More than a dozen draft beers plus a few micro brews are available to accompany your meal.
Upstairs, Downstairs
O’Grady’s offers comfortable surroundings on both floors, with dark hardwood tables and chairs. A long bar graces the main floor, with several stools to sit on while you enjoy a solo pint. Upstairs clientele can play while they drink – there are three pool tables, a foosball table and a couple of arcade games.

I love this spot, for some good drinks and a chat whether I'm on my own or with friends. One of my favourite things about this spot is that they have a variety of foods of different nationalities which is rare to see! I've been loving the new management as well and the changes they've made from the renovations to the changes in the menu. As a vegetarian I appreciate having multiple options to choose from and my favourite at Wylie's is Green Mango Tofu and Olive oil based vege pasta. Read more

Excellent meal.
Service was great - waitress was fun and checked on us every so often to see how we were doing.
Food? Delicious! My burger was great, and the rest of my family thought good of the restaurant as well.
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The old-fashioned chalkboard written deals and combos scattered across the restaurant felt like good-old home.
I tell you all, this is my new FAVORITE place to eat. I had a bite of chicken fingers, too -- HeAvEnLy!
If you decide to dine here, you won't be disappointed, I guarantee it!
Let me tell you something, I don't hand out 5 stars like candy, but this place really deserves it. Well done, Gabby's!Read more

The first thing i notice when i walked into POGUE MAHONES was that all the waitresses wore plaid thigh-length skirts - i am glad i arrived here! It is a kind of dark place with dark wood all over. Also it is a very busy and noisy place, i can barely hear myself talking. The waiters/waitresses were very attentive as they came back every once in awhile to check on our needs a few times. All of our food arrive fresh and hot. My coffee was fresh and scalding hot, it came in a generous sized mug too. My seafood chowder was hot and it was very creamy, not bad! My chicken wings were satisfactory, no complaints here! Okay now my Grand Spuds with irish-poutine-style sucked!!! The fries had melted cheese and gravy on top, but the freshcut homemade fries, tasted totally off. My friend who had fries in his dish also complained about the fries tasting YUCK! My other friends were very satisfied with their dishes (fish n chips, liver n onions w mashed potato, chicken pot pie w mashed potatoes, jambalaya). Good service, satisfactory food, unpleasant atmosphere (too noisy)... would i visit again? i dont think i will. Overall satisfactory!Read more

We have visited Watermark several times, and unlike most of the posters have never had a problem. Except. they should ban smoking on the patio, although that might be a city bylaw. Our recent visit was a busy, sunny Sunday at around noon. We were told it would be about 10 minutes to be seated, actually it turn out to be around 5 minutes. After being seated our waitress showed up in good time and asked for our drink order, she showed up quickly with our drinks and took our food order. She said the kitchen was quite busy and our order might take a little longer than usual. We asked about appetizers that might hold us to the food arrived and she said they really don't serve them. Imagine our surprise when showed up a little while later with a plate of mini muffins for us, and then, refilled the plate. I know it's not much.....but it was something. And actually, it didn't seem like too long till our food arrived. The only complaint was from my daughter....kids.....who said, and this well be somewhat odd, her tacos had too much topping on them, and that the meat sauce made the tortilla chips "soggy". She may right on "soggy" bit, but she likes the chips most of all :-) . It was a good lunch, and everyone enjoyed their meal, although the accompanying salads with sandwiches were on the small side. Chicken club was made with a chicken breast, and lobster clubs had plenty of filling. If I have a different experience, I'll post it.Read more

After Peel Pub sank beneath the waves, me and my buddies had to find a new pub to enjoy. We tried a lot of places out downtown until we found this one. Scotland Yard is pretty awesome. It isn't pretentious or overpriced. It has solid, good pub food and pretty much everything you want to wash it down with. A great place to load up your stomach before a night of partying and dancing. The style is Olde English, but the menu has a good mix of Canadian food too. Chairs and Tables are old world but they are in good shape.
Lack of parking is a problem, so if you are on foot this is a much better option. Also, waitresses do have a habit of disappearing, largely because the bar is U-shaped, but my cup has never truly run dry. They take pretty good care of there customers, and I always feel like I get my money's worth. The place can get a little bit rowdy with the mix of locals and tourists, but I've never felt disturbed by the clientale.
A pretty fun pub. Get your eats and start your crawl.Read more

Food is typical pub fare; generous helping for a good price.
they have good drink special especially on thurs and sundays.
the atmosphere really depends on the night: I've been there during the week when it was really mellow, and then the weekends get crazy busy! The service is pretty standard, but in the summer on the AMAZING roof top patio, the staff really run around like mad.

One of the best pub experience ever. Excellent choice of food and service. We were a group of 6 we didn't have any reservation's. We all were served very nicely, drinks were filled constantly, manager was present and asked us how everything was and suggested us to stay for Karaoke as well. Food quality was excellent, we had wings for appetizer's. They were huge jumbo wing's and it was half price during the leafs game. Rest of all the food were excellent. I had the best turkey dinner at this establishment. The whole flavor, gravy and stuffing were just the best. Will tell all our friends's and highly recommend to every one.Read more

The nachos are to die for, and I don't even like nachos very much.
The menu was severely limited due to the incredible business that is Pride Week, and I was at a stretch finding something vegetarian and to my liking. After being told that they were accepting no substitutions (understandably, but I just wanted no mayo and onion on the veggie burger), I went with my second choice, the curry. I wasn't expecting much, but it succeeded my expectations. Not fantastic and it needed more than a sprinkle of salt, but pleasant nonetheless. Co-diners raved about their nachos and pulled pork.
Service was a bit scattered due to business, but were very friendly. When a beer was brought to our table that wasn't ordered -- but welcomed! -- he let us have it on the house. Blanche de Chambly on tap, fantastic!Read more
