I lived my early childhood in the traditional native way on our family trap-line on Lake Temagami, hunting, fishing and Trapping. During the winter months I learned about our lifestyle and spiritual ways through the Elders and Medicine People, Storytelling and spiritual teachings were given to me by my Grandfathers, Grandmothers and parents.

In 1969 K Brothers Art Shoppe and Gallery was established as an artist materials, picture framing shoppe and art gallery at 242 Algonquin Ave. In 1976 K Bros Art was purchased by George Maroosis who moved it into the present larger site at 232 Algonquin Ave in 1979.In the gallery we have specialized in original Canadian Art with native art being a major feature. In the early years we featured art by the founder of the Woodland School of Art Norval Morrisseau and his brothers-in-law Joshim and Goyce Kakegamic.
