We both ordered Tempura Udon. The food was no doubt one of the best in Toronto with regards to quality and quantity. Server was okay and service was good. However the other guy behind the counter was snobbish. My friend called for the bill and signalled the guy. The guy just looked at my friend for a few seconds not showing any acknowledgement or emotion which made us think this was something. He just moved away from the counter and continued doing what he was doing. Our server came with the bill shortly and I asked if her colleague understood my friend. We then realized that the guy did understand my friend's request for the bill but he did not show a bit of reaction or acknowledgement. I consider that disrespectful. A little thing. We sat on the long sofa. It was comfortable but due to the depth of the sofa it was hard to sit down and get up considering it took so much space under the table. Read more

We went there for nice dinner during winterlisious 2012. Overall restaurant is very busy but cozy and romantic. Our server was running around in hurry and as a result during entire evening mixed up who ordered what, since it was only two of us it was ok to switch. Food Overall was very good: My appetizer was yumm and so is my the other person, soft deep fried calamari was excellent. Chicken skewers were moist and sauce was perfectly spicy. For the main dish disappointment arrived, all main dishes come with rice and stir fry. Stir fry was the WORST I have ever tried, super hard giant pieces of cabbage+ raw zucchini made it unpleasant both on taste and texture. Main dish of red curry was excellent and rice was perfectly done. Basil beef was amazing (properly the softest piece of beef I have ever tried in my life). Right on Dundas and Elizabeth, this little gem is sort of hidden downstairs. My Chinese friends refer to it as 'the basement' rather than its name. The bigger the group, the cheaper the meal. Dim Sum is good and very inexpensive ($2.20 - $3.70 per item). If you are going for lunch during the week, get there EARLY as it fills up very quickly. Once you have had lunch there, you will understand why. The Dim Sum is served from carts, so there are times when some of it may not be as hot as it should be, but I have never found that to be a problem since the food is very good. The decor is very basic with plastic table clothes, but the restaurant is quite clean, so that is not a problem. I go there regularly and recommend it. Read more

A party of 3 international travellers were seated at one of the many small quaint tables. The decor resembled that of both Thai and Indian, as did the menus. There were 2 other small parties seated but did not disrupt our experience. Service was immediate and very polite. Beverages were served first and promptly. The wait between entrees and the main course was a little longer than common. The food was edible but not as refined as I would have liked. Tandoori chicken was a little too burnt. Green Curry seemed watery and lacked substance. Chicken masala did not have as much flavor as most. The garlic naan was delicious, moist and crispy. Mango Lassis were perfect. Saffron rice was light and fluffy. This place paid close attention to details with respect to the presentation of the food, prompt service, ambiance and environment. This raised my overall score.
