The nachos are to die for, and I don't even like nachos very much. The menu was severely limited due to the incredible business that is Pride Week, and I was at a stretch finding something vegetarian and to my liking. After being told that they were accepting no substitutions (understandably, but I just wanted no mayo and onion on the veggie burger), I went with my second choice, the curry. I wasn't expecting much, but it succeeded my expectations. Not fantastic and it needed more than a sprinkle of salt, but pleasant nonetheless. Co-diners raved about their nachos and pulled pork. Service was a bit scattered due to business, but were very friendly. When a beer was brought to our table that wasn't ordered -- but welcomed! -- he let us have it on the house. I was in Shakey's a year ago and it has completely changed, I visited recently with some girlfriends and we had a fantastic meal. The owner has renovated the entire place to give it a 2010 pub look and has still kept the theme of a sports bar. Good job on the reno's, the menu looks great with some of the typical sports pub food such as nachos, hamburgers and wings. However the rest of the menu is quite amazing, from my understanding the waitress mentioned that Chris is a new addition to the staff and is the brother of the owner. Lion on the Beach is great place to relax, drink and eat. The food to date has always been delicious and scores high points in presentation and originality. While it is the disguise as regular pub fare, it would appear to be more tantilizing than one would have expected. The atmosphere is soothing and fun much like the rest of the beaches. The services can be a bit irradict due to overflow of customers but has always been exceptional.
