I had heard terrific things about Domani, a restaurant run by a former pro footballer from Afghanistan who has worked at some of Toronto's top restaurants, and had to come down to High Park and see for myself. The service was very courteous, prompt, and personal. At no point did we even have to ask for anything because it was already taken care of. The food was exquisite, well-presented and skilfully prepared. The portions were large but despite being quite full it was too delicious to leave any behind. The desserts were absolutely amazing, though next time I would do without the espresso. Though Domani requires a bit of a journey, I have not eaten anywhere in Toronto where gourmet food of this quality is available at such a reasonable price and accompanied by such excellent service. On a long street with bountiful options for where to eat, I could see how this place might get passed by. When we entered it was not very busy but the atmosphere was very welcoming. We were there for a Sunday lunch so we all ordered coffee to start, they have a decent cafe au lait. The menu had a great variety with excellent prices! All of the entree salads were only $8. After ordering, we waited a really long time for our food, especially since it wasn't busy at all. However, when the food came out it was all divine! The pizza's were very large for one person and the crust was excellent. Omelette's and eggs benedicts were enjoyable as well. A neat thing about this place is that you have the option of half fries, half salad for your side with any entree. Overall, a good experience with decent prices but if you are in a rush I would suggest you go elsewhere because the service was very leisurely. Read more

I've been to Brownstone's several times now, and it's always a good experience. Friendly staff, and good food. Their brunch gets busy on Sundays, and deservedly so, but we were able to make a reservation the night before for our not-so-small party. The banana and Nutella pancakes were delicious, but topped with syrup, were a bit rich for my delicate stomach. Good fresh orange juice. The decor is lively and interesting, though sitting near the front door can be drafty in cool weather. Read more

We just finished up with our first time ever Thursday night steak dinner. Wow! Truly tender and full of that beef flavour we are all looking for. The value you get for half the price as the big players like the kegs. We are playing our next evening out to see if this was a one time perfect steak. I truly believe the chef is really experienced as he was talking to us and explain what he inspects and excepts before he brings it in. Oh it comes with Mash potatoes and green peas. Well presented.
